What To Do About The Kicking Game **EDIT McManus Signed

All of you people are wrong, except maybe for Yoop and lupe. The fans own this team. The fans have been here long before the top brass took over, and they will continue to inhabit the historic bleachers of Lambeau Field long after they're gone. With the rise of the information superhighway, fans have access to most of the same information that front office personnel do. We are the cylinders that make this engine go. The pistons that inject life into the game. I will not let this forum be belittled, if it's not the last thing I do.

If not, then I would have to question your sanity. Why would any professional team give a rat’s ass about what a bunch of fans think they should do? They are professionals in the sport. We are FAR from having the resources, experience and knowledge that they have available. We have fun discussing this stuff, but we shouldn’t take ourselves too seriously.Papa John wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 06:59Do I look like I'm joking?williewasgreat wrote: ↑22 Oct 2024 15:37You don’t seriously believe this, do you?Papa John wrote: ↑22 Oct 2024 15:11
This forum, as you know, is an iteration of the original forums from the Green Bay Press-Gazette website. If you think coaching and management should not care about the peoples' voice- especially when that voice originates from the team's hometown publication, you've got another thing coming. They'd all be wise to read this forum, especially Murphy. At the very least, the organization should assign a few PR employees to peruse the online forums to take the pulse of fan morale, with this forum being the primary weather vein. Those employees should be reporting directly to BG and/or Murphy.
you should be though , FO people don't have time to sit around and read forums, thats nuts, there busy trying to do what your asking.Papa John wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 06:59Do I look like I'm joking?williewasgreat wrote: ↑22 Oct 2024 15:37You don’t seriously believe this, do you?Papa John wrote: ↑22 Oct 2024 15:11

you also don't seem to realize the sun played havoc with those kicks, our return guys are tasked with returning every kick, the sun made decision making slower, on the last kick Reed was told to fair catch it and forget the return, and thats what he did, and he sarcastically motioned the offense on the field after catching it.
yes Bisaccia should have realized the issue, yes both Nixon and Read should have to, yes Lafleur should have gotten in the face of Bisaccia sooner, yes you have a right to complain, all fans do, but there are always reason for why things happen, and your not accounting for them at all.

thanks Papa, but most people here think I'am wrong on many subjectsPapa John wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 07:06All of you people are wrong, except maybe for Yoop and lupe. The fans own this team. I tend to think some of the info floating around may have some authenticity, but also plenty of it just opinions.
FO people, coaches and GM's have made a career over years and years of tutoring one another, these people are surely the best of the best when it comes to this game.
remember back to the 70's, we fans did plenty of complaining back then, the response, was another decade of losing in the 80's, finally our complaints were heard, point is it's fine to complain, but the hearing of it is often pony express
To be fair, based on your avatar you look like you just got arrested...just sayin'Papa John wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 06:59Do I look like I'm joking?williewasgreat wrote: ↑22 Oct 2024 15:37You don’t seriously believe this, do you?Papa John wrote: ↑22 Oct 2024 15:11

I think it's cute that anyone would think the Packers front office or coaching staff would be cruising random fan forums looking for advice on how to do their job.
To be fair, I do think teams should. Interns, PR staff, etc. Not the front office, not the coaching staff, and when reading said forums I highly doubt they will stumble upon this forum.Madcity_matt wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 14:19I think it's cute that anyone would think the Packers front office or coaching staff would be cruising random fan forums looking for advice on how to do their job.

Why though? They give out fan surveys all the time that would be much more relevant and less time consuming.NCF wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 14:37To be fair, I do think teams should. Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
The pulse of the Packers fan is easy to figure out. You don't need to read forums to know it.
We have had 32 years of amazing offense, even when we neglected the WR position for a number of years.
We are frustrated with STs and defense and overall have our hearts broken in January every year.
This is easily known by just looking at the box score and NFL Team stats for the last 30 years.
What you get is a fan base who is genuinely engaged because we always have a shot but also developed a sense of skepticism, always looking at the bad, or "getting ready to be hurt" because we have experienced that each year for 2 exceptions.

The fan surveys only go out to a select group of fans...and then a subset of them answer...and those answers may or may not be the whole truth
Teams also want to reach the fans who don't respond to surveys as well. Interns are cheeep and willing labor, know their way around the internet and don't spend more time on this effort than it warrants.

What would you garner from a forum like this. I think @salmar80 has the right idea, what isn't on there is more useful.BSA wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 16:40The fan surveys only go out to a select group of fans...and then a subset of them answer...and those answers may or may not be the whole truth

Good question
And I think NCF has the answer above. They'd likely be more interested in high-traffic venues given their goals

High traffic venues don't have much difference with their content compared to here.

And here's the thing about the fans owning the team. They have zero say in how it's run. Nothing, nada, zippo. Anyone who owns stock in the Packers knows this.Papa John wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 07:06All of you people are wrong, except maybe for Yoop and lupe. The fans own this team. Well when this team finally gets another championship, I'll think about putting a smile on my face. But until that day comes, you'd better get used to this mean mug because that's what you're gonna be dealing with.

I do own stock in this team. And as 23 mentioned to you, this is not entirely true. I will allow my cohort, 23, to deal with you on this issue.Raptorman wrote: ↑23 Oct 2024 18:04And here's the thing about the fans owning the team. They have zero say in how it's run.
