Neither would I. Malik has great mobility and plays mistake free.

I’m not ruling us out with Willis. I don’t even think it’s on the offense to win the game. The Lions have by far the most physical offense in the league. No one can stop their run game and it’s because across the bird they’re murdering teams with their Oline. Then you have Goff just in these play action passes to some guys that know how to separate like ARSB (who should be in this team) and La Porta. Praise Jesus Jameson is out because then you just get destroyed.
Our front needs to come through with pressure but they’ve been a let down all season long finishing the QB.

Chris Brooks wasn't the only one who was smart with the clock.
When Love was coming off the field, he chose to fall on his back inbounds, forcing a free timeout, and giving Malik some extra seconds to prep. Had he gone off the field, no free timeout. Great awareness, even when hurting.

It's a win. Like I said early I. The week I was worried that if we let them hang around bad things could happen. It almost did but this team is finding ways to win not playing great. That's good but they need to start playing clean/good. This game should have been 20-7 early
Willis is a great backup. I wish ML trusted him a little more esp when the box was overloaded.
Run blocking was very average but Jacobs is tough as nails. He earned it today
Cooper is going to be special!!!
My biggest concern here on our is the straight up pass rush. Our front 4 is not good enough. LVN and Preston suck. Like suck suck
Clark is a ghost. Gary can't get home. They look slow and have no moves. Just watching them they attack mid chest and get stuck. Like no technique. He can't depend on exotic looks every week. We need these guys to win one on one sometimes. Hope they find on way next week against a stud OL
Big game against a hot lions team. GPG!!!!

I just hope they don't bring Jordan back too early. Thought they kind of did vs MN. Jordan seems to lose a lot on his accuracy when his legs are banged up.
Post-game locker room address from LeCoach:
Watching this happen in real time cost me a cocktail spilled on the floor…
Found it interesting that Chris Brooks got more snaps than Wilson. Wonder if it was because the game required a more powerful runner.
Next Gen Stats insight from Packers-Jaguars (via NFL Pro): Josh Jacobs was most productive rushing between the tackles, rushing 16 times for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Jacobs generated +36 rushing yards over expected on inside runs, his most in a game this season and third-most of his career.
NFL Research: Xavier McKinney recorded his career-high sixth interception Sunday, joining Trevon Diggs as the only players in the last 20 seasons to have six games with an interception in a team's first eight contests of a season. He's also the first player in Packers history to achieve the feat.

LaFleur really turning into a man before our eyes. I’ve been around some real bitch leaders and LaFleur was one of those where when I heard him speak he sounded scared and frail.
You see him now and he seems like he’s in complete command of the team. A leader of men. Maybe it’s because Rodgers is gone and he’s still showing he can be successful as a play caller and HC. Just really like what I’m hearing from LaFleur lately.

This was a costly win. We are likely out Evan Williams for a few weeks and he is out second best defender this year next to X. Jaire got hurt late too. Interested to see what that was about.
Then there’s obviously Love. I don’t think him being hurt is a bad thing. LaFleur needs to understand the strength of this team is running the ball. For whatever reason when Love is in the game he just wants to push the ball down the field through the air. Jacobs is more than capable of completely carrying this offense if you just let him go between the tackles and run play action off that. That’s where this offense is most efficient.

Going to expand on what you are saying with my added thoughts. It's not my first choice, but the Packers can win games with Willis. They can probably even beat good teams.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑27 Oct 2024 20:23This was a costly win. I don't believe Jacobs can completely carry this offense in the run game but I believe Willis and Jacobs can together. To me its the early years of Lamar Jackson when both the QB and RB could both run for 100 yards. Then pick your play action spots. The Ravens won a lot of games that way and were always top 3 I think in rushing offense. I think MLF is kind of a genius with X's and O's when it comes to running that kind of offense for some reason. He has looked good calling games with Willis in as QB. The option of Willis or Jacobs running the ball with MLF's schemes is a fricken nightmare for defenses. Willis has proved he can hit open receivers. When you can run the ball that well, receivers will be open.

I wasn't able focus on the game to my liking, but did get to see most of it. A couple things stood out to me.
Jordan Love should have been taken out a lot sooner. He was hurting and it sowed. The INT was a direct result of it as he wasn't able to drive off his back foot to get some mustard on that ball. It was a fine decision, but without any velocity, it was picked. To piggyback off that, it is very evident the playbook is missing a chapter when Love is in the game, being his is still not 100%. The RPO stuff that appears with Willis is in the game is what the offense is missing with Love. He just can't run it on the bum knee. We need him healthy.
The defense was found out a bit yesterday. Starting with the 5th drive of the game for the Jaguars, they lit up our defense in the passing game. They had 1 completion for 7 yards in the first 4 drives. In the next 8 drives they have 301 yards passing and all of their 27 points. The big thing was they were taking advantage of our cover 2 shell getting chunk plays on intermediate to deep outs and corner routes. Right where you want to attack such a defense. They were also taking advantage of our everyone at the line, then drop out pass rush or cover. It left defenders trailing on routes and led to more chunk plays. We need to mix it up a bit more and be more willing to play man, than and we need more from our pass rush. Both need to happen in unison or both will fail.

What I am talking about with the Jags taking advantage of the fake rush and drop. It is a FANTASTIC play by Cooper, but if he doesn't break the receivers collarbone, this is a catch.
Here is one that the Jags completed:
