NFC Playoffs
Where would you rather play? / Who would you rather play? in Round 1.
Seattle or Atlanta?
Seattle or Atlanta?
ATL. Cousins might be hitting the wall. Seattle seems to just find a way.
It doesn't matter would should blow out either of those average teams and head to Detroit the next week.
Basically the goal is to get better as a team and not be the 7 seed.
My guess is if we end up we want to be, we will be the 5 seed

What's the issue with 7? Toughest schedule?

probably, worst WC plays best div winner, so a 5th seeding would match us up against 3rd best div winner I think
The 7 will have to play the 2 in the Wildcard round. I think it would be preferable to face Detroit/Philly in the Divisional Round rather than the WC round.
The 7 seed will also have to play Detroit/Philly back to back in the first two rounds whereas the 5/6 seed would likely only have face one of Detroit/Philly before the NFC Title game.
But yes. Ultimately any wildcard team will need to face them both onto the SB. So the other real advantage of a 5 or 6 seed is the off chance of hosting a playoff game in the final round.

I don’t think either will make the playoffs.RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024 22:12Where would you rather play? / Who would you rather play? in Round 1.

I think it is imperative to get the 5 seed. You don’t want to play the 2 seed and you definitely would like a shot at avoiding the Lions in the 2nd round.

Atlanta's not a playoff team. Seahawks may be.BF004 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2024 09:58I don’t think either will make the playoffs.RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑07 Dec 2024 22:12Where would you rather play? / Who would you rather play? in Round 1.

Looks like a win vs Seattle and LA Rams loss on Sunday could clinch us a playoff berth.
A win vs Seattle plus one more win absolutely clinches us a playoff berth.

I actually hope we get Detroit in the 2nd round personally.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑08 Dec 2024 11:27I think it is imperative to get the 5 seed. You don’t want to play the 2 seed and you definitely would like a shot at avoiding the Lions in the 2nd round.
There are advantages of playing the hardest team earlier.BF004 wrote: ↑09 Dec 2024 08:43I actually hope we get Detroit in the 2nd round personally.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑08 Dec 2024 11:27I think it is imperative to get the 5 seed. Just the way I worked out the predictor on PFN I think it ends up going Lions, Eagles, Rams, Buccs, Packers, Vikings, Redskins provided we win out.
I think it would be huge to see the Redskins play the Eagles round 1. Those divisional Rival games are anything goes in the playoffs. Thats a good shot at eliminating the Eagles early. Probably doesnt happen but I do think thats the best opportunity for us. Meanwhile in the first round we get the Buccs which is exactly what you want in the first round.

Yeah if we have to face one of the top dogs, I think I would much rather go up against Detroit than Philly.
I feel like Seattle on the road could be a tougher than it looks on-paper.

I think it will be interesting to see snap counts down the stretch.
No game is "must win" any more as we have plenty of breathing room compared to previous years where we had to win to stay alive. Therefore I wonder if the medical team will be more conservative on injuries and beyond that, simply spread out the snap count load a bit more.
Guys like defensive line, Jacobs, Kraft, recievers in general. This would be a time to start managing less wear on the body and also get some players some confidence and looks going into January.

I wonder in week 17/18 how many Philly/Detroit fans become Packer fans? I am sure #2 seed would prefer Packers to be 5 or 6 vs 7?
Frankly I think this year the 5 and 6 seed will be locked by week 18.flapackfan wrote: ↑09 Dec 2024 12:25I wonder in week 17/18 how many Philly/Detroit fans become Packer fans? I am sure #2 seed would prefer Packers to be 5 or 6 vs 7?
I think NFC Week 18 drama will include a potential battle for the NFC North, NFC West, and potential Wild Card battle between the Redskins and the NFC West #2 team.
I gotta give it to MN. They are still very much alive in the North Battle. I hope we ruin that chance in a couple weeks.
