There's not really a thread for it, at least not a current one, so I'll just post it here.

Packers got these 6 players as a result of the draft picks from the Rodgers trade:

Lukas Van Ness
Luke Musgrave
Anders Carlson
Edgerrin Cooper
Jacob Monk
Evan Willams

So obviously Carlson didn't work out, and I don't believe Monk has seen the field at all. But Van Ness looks like at worst, he'll be a solid rotational player on the D-Line, and seems to be coming around. Musgrave, jury is still out. But Cooper and Williams look like they could be game changers already! We got all that for a QB that missed last year with an Achilles and looks horrendous this year. Not a bad return.

Great point! And LVN and Musgrave can still become factors. While we probably shoulda maxed Rodgers' value by trading him one year earlier, Guty certainly got some value out of it...

And please, feel free to start a new thread if you feel like there's a topic that deserves discussing. Starting threads is not just a mod thing. :beer2:

A draft darling available for free: WR Laviska Shenault waived by the Seahawks after messing up two kickoff returns.

I just don't see it with Purdy. The data guys love him but every time I watch him I come away unimpressed.

Here's an article talking about MLF's incredible post-thanksgiving W/L record in Titletown

https://packerstalk.com/2024/12/04/pack ... g-record/

"Altogether, Matt LaFleur’s Packers teams have gone 25-5 in games played on or after Thanksgiving. If you translated that .833 winning percentage over a 17-game regular season, you’d have a 14-3 record. 30 games is almost two full seasons worth, so this is not a small sample size fluke."

"To put in perspective how good LaFleur’s record is, consider how teams that reach the Super Bowl fare in post-Thanksgiving games. Since 2019 those teams are a combined 46-17. That translates to a .730 winning percentage. Matt LaFleur’s post-Thanksgiving record is significantly better than even the teams you would expect to have the best records if the adages are true."

Impressive

Its amazing how many times I have posted about Purdy. I basically agree with you. I call him "quietly effective". I think he is reasonably accurate, and he anticipates what he sees well. He benefits from a very good offensive coach and last year from very good pieces around him. His shortcomings seem obvious with his lack of arm strength/talent and size, your not going to get a bunch of "WOW" plays from him.

The 49ers have a big decision to make. Purdy will want to be paid. I am very curious how this one plays out considering everything that has happened to get to this point with Purdy.

Purdy is gritty and has made it happen with all this targets injured, could do worse.

Tucker Kraft is the best 3rd round selection of my life. Perhaps the easiest Packer to love.

Great, now if he could just start games the way he finishes them, until he starts doing that he'll frustrate me and most fans. :idn:

I won't bother to look up past 3rd round picks, I like Kraft too, but attempting to hurdle a player for another yard is putting the player at risk of injury, or a fumble as was the case with Watson, would rather our players eliminated that stuff :idn:

Kraft has gotten over his hurdling ways. He wasn't attempting to hurdle Joseph, he was attempting not to lose his ACL as Joseph is known for low hits.

Love it.

He wasn’t trying to hurdle for an extra yard, he was just trying to saves his knees from that $%&# Kirby Joseph.
