Packers v Bears Christmas Day 2005- there were fights galore. Never seen so many fights at a sporting event.

I was at Packers- bears a few years ago at Lambeau for a night game late in the season. We obliterated them. They scored 2x in the 4th to make it seem closer than it really was.

In the mid 3rd quarter the Bears picked up a first down. A man in all Bears gear stood up about 15 rows in front of us and started some overblown cheering. Turning around to yell to all of us Packer fans, "Wow! Did you see that!! The Bears are awesome!" When he got a few boos, he yelled, "it's the 3rd quarter. I don't care if we are still down 3 scores. I finally have something to cheer about!" We applauded and laughed.

Yes, it probably is a bit related to winning and being in a good mood. I have a great record of only seeing 1 loss at lambeau. That was a preseason game against the Seahawks. Think I saw 2 losses, maybe 3, on the road.

I think I'm done doing road games. Unless maybe another NFC Championship Game if I can reasonably get there
(I've been to 2 NFCCGs ......... one at Lambeau vs. the Giants :bigcry: and one at 3-COM versus the 49ers  ).

I've been to every Packer/Bear game at Lambeau for 25 years, it is mostly mild mannered banter. Went to Soldier like 12 years ago, there were Bear fans that came to not watch the game, but just to mess with Packer fans. Dude a couple rows behind us was throwing peanuts at the back of our heads. If it was anywhere else I would have decked him. People screaming horrible things when our player was on the ground injured, etc. It was the worst we have been treated overall at any of my 19 away stadiums (besides in Seattle for the fail mary, they threw food at us as we were walking out). But sadly I expected that with a rival. People get treated so well at Lambeau.

Yes they do. And they're grateful for it, I hear it every time I go

Of course its easier to be a magnanimous & gracious host when your team is so famous for winning...
... that they actually name the Championship Trophy after your coach :)

And now everyone in the thread is disagreeing with my take. Fine. You know what? Packers fans are pretty $%@# annoying too.
Fixed it for you.

For about 20 years Packer fans were pretty quiet. But that was before the internet. All teams have fans who are annoying as hell. I even know some Viking fans who chaff my ass. The easiest thing to do is ignore those that really annoy you. We have one Bears fan over on our Vikings page who is actually okay. The only thing I can think of is he must be older. Older fans don't tend to be as cocky as younger fans. On any team. Just an observation over the 15 or so forums I've been a member of over the years.
I came into this world KICKING and screaming, naked, and covered in blood that wasn't mine.
I am prepared to go out the same way if I need to.

Lighten up, Francis. There isn't anything here that I doubt any of us would not say to each other's faces. I highly doubt anyone is taking this personally. And for the record, there isn't anyone here I wouldn't sit down and watch a game with. Hell, I'd even buy the beer. 80% of my family are Packer fans. Do you think I don't rag on them and them on me? (The other 20% don't give a crap about football)

Promise:

Every time the Packers win a playoff game this season, I'll go swim in a frozen river/lake in Packers attire and post the pics.

Most of the Vikings fans I've run into here in SW FL are insufferable, especially when they find out I'm from Green Bay. I haven't seen a lot of Bears fans around here probably because they are keeping a low profile seeing their team has stunk for so long.

Oh I believe that. I've meet some pretty insufferable Vikings fans myself. I'm always like, "Tone it down" you have nothing to do with the team and other than mostly winning seasons, we have nothing to brag about. On the other hand, Packer fans pushing all the Championships from the past from a league with 9-10 teams isn't the greatest look. Yeah, it's great, but it has zero to do with todays game. But I'm sure the fans of the Providence Steam Rollers were happy the year they won the Championship.
