so why did our defense play it like it was.
Hafley told us... it was a miscommunication in the defensive play call...
I know what Hafley said, I also know this, with PS and training camp, that these coaches have had roughly 6 months to get these communications right.

Agreed. The explanation was it was a miscommunication. Can't have those this time a year. To be fair, there were a lot of moving pieces in the secondary due to injuries including the first real playing time for Oladapo. Not excusing it, but accepting the explanation.

someone should run and tell Hafley and his assistants that preventing a offenses to gain 18 yards with 18 seconds left in the game which allows Philly to kick a game winning FG, after doing so the week prior with the Bares will not be forgiven, again, and we all are sick of excuses, well at least Me, Ringo, and Papa are fed up with hearing these lame excuses
I haven't heard one excuse from the coaching staff about the final play.

The coaches all said they f*cked up.
I couldn't give two &%$@ less that the coaches own the blame, they damn well should own that BS, I also don't give a $%@# that we are the youngest team in the league at this point, our players should know how to defend in that situation, when I called it prevent, that is exactly what it was, just like you would defend a hail mary, but as you, Lafleur, and everyone else told me, that was not a hail mary type play, so why did our defense play it like it was.

this was pure and simple a lack of coaching, and we have 5(five) defensive coaches designated to teach this &%$@, so owning it at some point is just more excuses to me, do your damn job. :bkw:
I literally don't know what you are looking for. You are asking for accountability and no excuses.

The coaches are being accountantable. They have said all week they screwed up.

Without a time machine...what else are you looking for? You are just screaming right now.

I guess firing is your only resolution here which I have stated before but then you shut that down saying nobody should be fired. You don't know what you want.

By the way, Nobdy from the Packers have thrown out any excuses beyond "miscommunication". The youngest team in the league thing as an excuse has only been thrown out by you.

your the one that started this cuss session, I just threw it back at ya, again your attempting to speak for me, putting words in my mouth, I refuse to buy into explanations at this point, every week we get explanations for failure, eventually that becomes empty excuses for them not doing there jobs.

and a person can be upset, and also not want to fire everyone and start over, quit speaking for me.

Im not quite sure how miscommunication happens when you call a TO on the play before to make sure things are communicated properly. The TO should have been taken to make sure everyone was on the same page and the tactic was sound.

I hear ya, but how often this season, have we seen wide open receiver's with no one in those zones, I mean not a defender within 10 yards? lots

everyone naturally blames the players, or the DC, but we have 5 coaches hired so that stuff doesn't/shouldn't happen, however every game we see this stuff, and to often more than that, IMHO NCF, what we saw on that last play should never happen when you have a McKinney at center fielder, our players to often play like Robots, like there over coached and afraid to make a mistake, from personal experience when that happens instinctive ability goes right out the window, and thinking takes over, and you are not allowed to think and play at the NFL level at the same time, there is no time to think of what you should be doing and also defend a play.
anyone who's played HS ball knows exactly what I'am talking about, granted we do have a bunch of youngsters, and it is the first year for most in new schemes, again though, we are 6 months into this, and it's one and done time, hopefully our troops are better prepared for Philly

amen, I forgot we called a time out so coaches could communicate to the players to go 3 safety's 28 yards from the LOS :rotf:

if defense for our coaches were a mud slick, we'd need chest waders in this chat :rotf:

again it's a lead in question, and you know exactly what I've been getting at, never even heard any presser, and don't need to hear any either, and neither should you or anyone else that frequents this forum, we saw what a complete debacle it was, do you rely on explanations so you can assign blame, on that play every swinging dick involved was to blame :thwap:

No, no one actually knows what you are trying to say... You said you refuse to buy into explanations. SOOO, do you believe it was a miscommunication or don't you?

I don't know what to believe, do you? we are 6 months into this and I'am wondering a lot of things, the lack of communication is just one on a list, along with we never thought the vikes would use so much man, another lame excuse for stupid play that we've seen the last month.

So then what do you want? What level of accountability are you looking for?

You want no excuses. They didn't offer one and that is still not good enough for you. What do you want? How do you want the Packers to resolve this?

When they say miscommunication, it doesn't mean they made a call and the players got the wrong call or not all the players played the same call.

From what I've listened to, it sounds like the general scenario is that MLF communicated that they didn't need to worry about the spike, so Haffley called the play as if this was the last down.

MLF says the time cutoff for that is 12 seconds, and the Bears had 15, so they should not have been in a final play play call.

But what MLF meant to communicate is that they don't need to worry about the spike if they don't get the first down (because it would be 4th down, and so they cannot spike it). So if they ARE able to get another play off, it would have to be a rushed 4th down play.

So MLF didn't correctly communicate the scenario to Hafley for the call. So Hafley made a call that fit a different scenario. So the defense looked dumb. He meant to communicate that if they can get a stop, there's no spike. He meant to be communicating that preventing a first down is the important thing by saying don't worry about the spike. But he communicated the wrong thing by using an incomplete explanation.

It's not AT ALL an excuse for the bad performance, it is an admission of guilt. They are saying that the communication between coaches at that moment was bad and that is unacceptable and it is on them. So they are taking accountability, but they are being overly broad about it. But from MLF's Monday presser, that seemed pretty clear to me, as he discussed 12 vs 15 seconds, 3rd down and not being able to spike on 4th, etc.

Yep, that makes sense and I hadn't considered that, but now that it is out there, it is almost more infuriating. Like, Hafley was a HC, too. At some point, even if LaFleur is giving him an order, he has to be like, F U, 15 seconds is too much time and I need to make a more aggressive call. It just really paints Hafley in a bad light, IMO. Secondly, there should be a dedicated staff member for all things clock and he should be the one talking about those points TO LaFleur and the whole staff.
