Hope the Rams don't go into prevent defense mode.

Perfect example of the BS QB late slide. Kichens already going in for the tackle and then Darnold slides.

And just like that, GB is in the same position as MN (except we get the 23rd pick and they get the 24th pick)

They need to remove that completely. You run, protect yourself.

Exactly. Leave it to the QB to protect himself early, i.e. get down well ahead of contact, or suffer the consequences.

At this point, QBs are daring the defenders to hit them and stealing extra yards.

Paul Allen following the adding of time to the play clock after pass was ruled incomplete - “oh great, an extra 20 seconds of this misery.”

Packers scored more points against a better defense. So there.

Rams are legit SB contenders if they can keep Stafford upright.

another rule that has actually made it more unsafe for QB's and worse for defenders as well. Sure most defenders don't hit them too hard, but every once and a while, weekly, someone decides they don't care and the QB counting on the protection from the slide takes a worse hit to the head than he would have had he just been playing football in the first place.

and could be fixed with 1 rule on tackling. Head up, arms out, or flag it. We could get rid of every other tackling rule in the books. Head up, arms out or it's a flag. Helmet to helmet in that position is nothing vs the alternative nd most everyone that is looking at what is going to hit them in the face will instinctively turn their head to the side. Problem effin solved.

amen to that Musclestang :aok:

so tired of watching cheap shot football, shoulders to the knees, arm tackling, I think our coaches are at least attempting to break these bad habits, I've seen it, but it still rears it's ugly head, Valentine had the opportunity to do that against Goddard, instead, he tried to arm tackle him high, and ended up getting his butt trounced for that terrible technique, jmo.

I said at the beginning of the year, Darnold often starts strong but then falls off pretty dramatically.

But, he wasn't falling off. He was legit balling, even looking better as the season progressed. I sincerely thought he had turned a corner and showed not only that he is a starting-caliber QB, but showed that we were wrong to doubt that he was an elite draft prospect, worthy of the Top 5 selection.

Well played!

Rams were more than impressive. But I'm wondering too if they max'd their emotions for this game and will now struggle to equal that in the next.

No doubt, they held nothing back against the Vikes. And they got the best results. Maybe that's the best way to coach in the playoffs. Get your team hyped to 150% and hope they contain any undisciplined actions. We'll see. It'll be tougher next week.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

I knew the way the game was going to go the moment they called Staffords fumble a forward pass. I turned the game off at halftime. Just couldn't watch that crap show.
I came into this world KICKING and screaming, naked, and covered in blood that wasn't mine.
I am prepared to go out the same way if I need to.

It was a savvy vet taking advantage of a poorly written rule.

As written and interpreted, I agree with the ruling as incomplete pass. For practical purposes, it was 1) an in the grasp sack or 2) intentional grounding or 3) an intentional forward fumble that should be ruled as such.

Alas, it’s the NFL rules world we live in. It was one play of many. Accept it and move on. Neither of our teams responded well to early bad calls and they both appear to have allowed the momentum of the moment spoil the entire game for their respective teams.

I wish I’d have tuned into the KFAN radio feed sooner. You can already hear the resignation in their voices. I feel like I missed the emotional creeping death realization of the first half failure.
I knew it! I had already missed the good stuff…
