Love the analysis work he does. No clue whether that translates to him being a good coach or not.

that dang Rodgers is attempting to steal our whole squad, has he been promoted to president of football operations, Sullivan is interviewing for the Jets too, people call the Jets GB east now for cripe sakes

Hafley will be the 10th interview for HC I read, took our defense from ranked 24th to 4th, which will get the attention of anyone looking for a HC

WAlly's busy, he's an academic for cripe sacks :rotf: I'am still not sure what that actually means, but thanks for the article, it's short so I'll just post it, personally I'd rather a more experienced person for this job, we got rid of Getsy for the more experienced Clements.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur tends to hire offensive coaches with whom he’s had previous relationships. Now that quarterbacks coach Tom Clements is set to retire, a big question that LaFleur must answer is who is going to oversee the development of his young, $220 million quarterback in Jordan Love.

Well, one of LaFleur’s former quarterbacks, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, just threw his hat in this ring. After someone suggested Orlovksy as a possible candidate on Twitter/X, Orlovsky responded, “Would be an honor,” on Tuesday — the same day it was announced that Clements would be heading into retirement.

LaFleur has previously discussed trying to sign Orlovksy to his coaching staff in the past, which shouldn't be a shock. The two spent time with each other in 2009 when they were both with the Houston Texans and in 2017 with the Los Angeles Rams, LaFleur’s lone season as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Orlovsky wouldn’t even be the first 2017 Rams quarterback who LaFleur has signed to his staff. At the moment, Sean Mannion, who was also on that roster, is serving as an offensive assistant for the Packers. Mannion and Luke Getsy, currently a consultant with the team who served as the Packers’ quarterbacks coach from 2019 through 2021 under LaFleur, are both internal candidates who you’d have to assume would be on the shortlist for the job.

Orlovsky’s deal with ESPN is set to expire after this season, so it’s uncertain whether or not he’s actually interested in coaching for the Packers or if he’s just posturing for leverage for a new television deal. Considering that his name has been floated in the past, though, it’s at least an idea that should be taken seriously.

I don't care too much about the replacement QB coach but please no Luke Getsy. Rodgers was already good, no one else developed into anything under him.

I think there is a spot for Getsy, but I would prefer the young guy that they went after hard last year (Mannion). Getsy does have some valuable insight as he was (I think) the lone offensive holdover from Mike McCarthy's staff that LaFleur kept. He was the WR coach during Davante's breakout seasons.
