Mel KIper first mock has us taking speed edge rusher Mike Green from Marshall, 17 sacks last year with slot 23. good article.

PFF gave Green an elite 92.4 overall grade and credited him with 59 total pressures across 356 pass-rushing snaps. His 59 total pressured ranked ninth among all FBS players, and his pass-rush win rate of 20.1 percent ranked eighth.

Mike Green is in my top list of "wants" for us high in the draft. He is not the prototypical Packer selection but I can't help but think that is okay considering our first round philosophy hasn't been great anyways.

We went after big boys at edge. Now that we are 4-3, I think getting a speed guy would be beneficial.

my thought as well, I'd also require LVN to add some weight and move him inside, a speed to power rusher like Green would be a great match with Gary, then you can flop those two depending on OT's we face, LVN could be our Peppers clone at 4 or 5 tech, jmo

That pick would mark a change in edge/DL draft pick philosophy for the Packers.

They typically shy away from college players with highly productive stat lines preferring instead to go with the physical upside/under-performer types with their top picks.
Yup. And we end up with guys like LVN that can't play football.

I didnt mind the LVN pick. I would have taken Christian Gonzalez who should have been a top 10 talent. What is it with this team refusing to take players who fall to them? I feel like they just have their guy before the draft starts that they fall in love with and everything else be damned. I feel like this happened last year when you need a CB and for whatever reason Quinyon Mitchell falls, the best CB in the class that you usually need to pay a premium for and you just sit there to take a backup OT. Maddening.

LVN was always going to take at least 2 years to develop. He was just a sophomore and was super raw. Hes coming off of 3 scheme changes essentially that switched his stance from hand in dirt to standing back to hand in dirt. I would wait 1 more year before calling him a bust. Hes just coming into his man strength age and some stability in a scheme for once.

Mel Kiper (ESPN) thinks we are taking Mike Green from Marshall. Personally, I like the pick, but obviously it is no WR1 or CB.

Starting really like Josaiah Stewart. Not the typical size profile for the Packers, but I kind of like some of those shorter guys on the EDGE to out-leverage big OT's.

A tall guy that can bend is better. Short DL have a hard time seeing past large/tall OL to know what is going on in the backfield.

Yes. The problem is there are not a ton of big guys that can bend. On 3rd and Long, when the Packers really need the help, I don't care if he can see. Let him scream off the edge and go get the QB.

For those that are interested. Easton Butler put together a Packers draft visit tracker.
