I get it, Wally. You’ll never forgive Bud Lite. They are forever tainted in your eyes and you’d just as soon see one of the great American brands go bankrupt than to see them pivot from an admittedly failed marketing strategy, back to on-brand advertising.

Burn, baby, burn!!

I will admit, I read @wallyuwl's comment and thought the same as you. Then I actually watched the spot and now I agree with him. Maybe a fine Bud Light spot, but definitely not funny. Hopefully they are saving the good stuff for Sunday.

I thought it was funny...but I'm also pretty simple. I also think whether you find humor in the clip is irrelevant, though.

The point I was trying to illuminate was the pivot from LGBTQ man-dressed-as-woman spokesperson to three headliner personalities within their respective industries and among the most widely accepted and embraced social personas you can find who appeal to the Bud Lite drinking crowd.

That was the point.

The ad was fine. It just wasn't anything special and definitely not funny.

Honestly, I'm kind of with him. I was down with the Bud Light boycott thing at the time. But there was still a part of me that was sympathetic to the company. They shouldn't have to get &%$@ canned just because some 23 year old dingbat SJW made a bad marketing decision.

Nonetheless, I just didn't find this funny- objectively. Not a bad advertisement. Just not that funny.

LeBron fans can be so irritating. I was having a conversation with an acquaintance the other night who was insisting that LeBron is a top 2 player of all time. All I said was that I disagree that he's top 2. Not that he's overrated or not a great player, just not top 2. Guy loses his &%$@ like I ran over his dog. Honestly, I wouldn't even put him in my top 5- but I didn't even say that. I think that Kobe Bryant was pretty clearly a better basketball player. It's also not even clear that James is the best player of his generation. A case could be made that Steph Curry could lay claim to that title.

Papa rant done.

No doubt in my mind LeBron isn’t top five.

1. Michael Jordan
2. Larry Bird
3. Kobe Bryant
4/5. Wilt Chamberlain/Bill Russell
6. Magic Johnson

Several others (Kareem, Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, Hakeem Olajuwon, Steph Curry) I could be swayed get ranked ahead of him.

Exactly. Duncan, Bird, and Kobe all won multiple championships with worse #2’s than LeBron ever had to play with for any of his.

LeBron also turns the ball over wayyyyy to often. He is an athletic freak who was destined for greatness, but he isn’t the GOAT- not even close. For some reason his fans take that statement as a slight.

LeBron should be ranked near the lower portion of the Top 10… but to think that Steph Curry is a better basketball player then LeBron is absolutely crazy thinking.

Steph Curry is the best shooter of all time. Steph transformed the game, and he accomplished that, basically singlehandedly. He is the reason why the game has become so centered around the 3 point shot. It can be argued that he is a better offensive player than LBJ. Defensively, LeBron is clearly superior. In the end, I'd consider LeBron the better player. But it's closer than most think, IMO.

That is exactly why I give Curry a boost in terms of all-time greats. He was a transformative player who impacted the game beyond a stat line.

I do agree, though, that I'd give LeBron the edge on an all-time listing.

He was a major part of that, sure. I will add some points though:

- The way the game was being played the previous 3-7 years is also a major reason why. Lack of defense was always going to lead to more points being scored in an innovative fashion. It was inevitable with the direction of the league and the treatment of its star players.

- Shooting is just one aspect of the game and a players potential. I’ll take LeBron, by a wide margin, in almost every other stat, metric, aspect of the game, etc.

- If you’re making a team, LeBron gets picked over Steph Curry 10 times out of 10.

- To piggy back off my top point, Curry was ahead of his time but he isn’t the only reason the league changed its style of play. Europeans were already doing similar things overseas.

Steph Curry is great: an all-timer, a champion, a hard worker, a super nice guy who did take a huge part in revolutionizing the game. But he isn’t a better basketball player than LeBron, not-even-close. And I really, really dislike LeBron for MANY reasons.
