Fiasco Mock 2.0 Post Combine/FA

Post by lupedafiasco »

Trades:
Jaire Alexander is traded for a conditional 2026 7th round pick that can become a 4th base on playtime and Pro Bowl status. Who trades for him, Idk...

Draft: Used PFN Mock Draft Sim
Round 1: Trade! Bills offer 30 and 62 for 23 and 159. I had really hated the way this draft fell for me. The player available vs what I wanted didnt sit right with me.
Donovan Ezeiraku Edge BC
Few players come out of college with pass rush moves like these. To start with the bad he is just 6'2 and weighed 248 at the combine. He did measure 34" arms which is a plus for that size. He didnt run which is disappointing but he did all the agility drills which he dominated but was pretty average in the explosive jumping. Back to the positives hes just 21 years old and isnt already very technically refined as a pass rusher. I dont think he will ever be that every down player because he lacks mass and strength to hold up in the run game. What you get from him off the edge as a pass rusher is where you will get your value. His inside rip and his spin move are elite. For a team like the Packers who just needs a guy who can create pressure quickly this is exactly what you want from a pass rusher. Ties to Hafley help. Not a complete player but will be a productive designated pass rusher.

Round 2a:
Tre Harris WR Ole Miss
Jayden Higgins was available but I found it unrealistic so I went here. Its crazy to watch Harris tape and not think you might be watching old AJ Brown film. Harris is so strong with the ball in his hands and aggressive at the catch point. Its hard for me not to believe hes is going to be a good player. Im not sure he will be elite though. The lack of pure athleticism gives me pause. Hes better than anything we have right now and is a pure my ball type of WR that will actually come down with the ball. I think something that will hurt him at the next level is he needs to work on his release. In college he just shoved everyone off him and I dont like his initial footwork in his release package. Same thing at the catch point. He needs to develop his late hands. Still he is so physically imposing and dominant I think most CBs wont only struggle to separate the ball from him at the catch point but bring in down in the open field. I think he and Wicks are similar players minus the drop issues. One of the thing I like looking at with dominant QB/WR duos is who made who? We saw Mike Evans make Cocaine Manziel and Davante Adams make Derek Carr. I think this is the case with Dart.

Round 2b:
Darius Alexander DT Toledo
If I am being honest I am still in the process of scouting Alexander. He was actually a player I came across a season ago when giving a brief look at Quinyon Mitchell a year ago. Its so hard to scout smaller school players like this because in my opinion Alexander is just so dominant it makes me question if its his ability or his competition. He would be the Slaton/Clark replacement as a big NT. He excels against the run but I believe he has ability as a pass rusher as well if he develops his pass rush moves. He gets by on being bigger and stronger than everyone he faces at Toledo. With this deep class at DT I do believe as a talent he should be gone by now.

Round 3:
Jared Wilson C Georgia
Really hated all the picks available here. After careful consideration I went with one of, if not the best C in this class. The last time we saw Jenkins at C it was very bad, to be fair on very little practice and a rain storm. We havent seen anything from Monk. This pick offers not just C depth but OG depth in the event you lose Banks or Rhyan for the year. Additionally we are gettign to the age with Jenkins where we might want to move on. I get this pick makes us 3 deep at OC which is not ideal but it adds to our OG depth which killed us against the Eagles. Wilson is super athletic and I think will excel as a pass protector but also in situations he needs to pull or block for screens. I think Wilson right now is a fine player. The weight room and coaching will be imporitant for him moving forward. He lack experience and strength.

Round 4:
Jordan Hancock CB OSU
I think if you play Hancock as an outside CB he is going to fail miserably. I just dont think his coverage skills are that good. Hes a bit grabby and physical at the catch point. In the slot though I love his physicality and tackling. As a run defender and blitzer I think there is potential to be very good. Hobbs is apparently a boundary CB against my wishes. Nixon did look better outside. Bullard was really bad in coverage from the slot. This team needs competition and insurance that the nickel CB is secured. With this pick you have depth at nickel and allows the boundary to be controlled by Hobbs, Nixon, and Valentine.

Round 6:
Ty Robinson DT Nebraska
Earlier we got Alexander who can be that NT type. Roninson is just straight up dominant and should be a 3rd round talent IMO. Hes got the size. He dominated the combine. He was a leader of his football team that was carried by its defense because Railoa really isnt very good. Robinson would excel so hard if this was 20 years ago as a 5 tech DE in a 3-4. Regardless this guy can rush the passer and physically impose the OL. His combine numbers were all around dominant. I do find it a bit disingenuous to have him here but thats what was available on the sim.

Round 7a:
Cody Simon LB OSU
I really just like Simons ability to make plays. I think he would do well as a STs guy.Theres an energy about him and he just sees ball and gets ball.. or tries to. Missed tackles and bad angles are a thing. Its a 7th round pick... What do you expect. Getting a 7th round championship grade ILB is a steal IMO.

Round 7b: Arian Smith WR Georgia
This is a guy I likely have in all my mocks. Hes got world class speed and good tracking ability. He got a late start at football and might never develop but the potential is there and just telling him to run gos, posts, and corner routes is enough to stress a defense and open the field. At the very worst this man will make a name for himself as a gunnner like Jeff Janis.
Cancelled by the forum elites.

Nice mock and pretty realistic

Donovan Ezeiraku is a clay Mathews clone coming out of college. Same vert and 3 cone. He does have room to add some weight. I like the prospect and he adds juice right away

Harris isn't bad. Would prefer Higgins like you said prob gone, but I also like Royals.

The rest fill needs and add solid athletes.
