Correction: AFC North.
Parenthetically.....just send him to Cleveland and be done with the drama.

Well they are trying to sell him on the team. They're not going to say it will be as great as the Jets experience.RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑24 Mar 2025 12:28Correction: AFC North.

Russell Wilson now a NY Giant.
as the door swings on it's hinges, the slugard rolls over in bed

I still think the Giants will take Shadeur Sanders, Wilson will allow them to sit and coach him up a season, which is best for every young pup

The Giants 1956 Team card features Vince Lombardi. This is not well known amongst Packers card collectors. He's in the 2nd row far left. Packers great Emlen Tunnell is on the card as well.

Florio is reporting (and says this comes from pretty high up in league circles) that the reason Rodgers hasn't signed with PIT is because he wants to go to MIN, and is waiting for them to bring him aboard.
And yes, I buy it. If he was all-in on PIT, he'd be a Steeler right now, because they want him. And I don't think he's unsure about playing football. He can still play at a high level and has said he wants to play well into 40. I have not seen him say or do anything that makes me think he's ready to hang 'em up.
So the most likely explanation to me is, he wants to play, but not for PIT. And yeah, MIN has a really nice supporting cast for a QB, so it would make a lot of sense for him to want to go there.

I absolutely believe the report.
Father time is undefeated. All the 41+ year old QBs with 300+ attempts in a season: Minnesota has doubled down on JJ Mccarthy being their starter. I don't think they have any interest in Rodgers as their starting QB. They would have to do some interesting cap gymnastics to sign Rodgers and there is just no way they sign him to a 2 year deal.

MN is a pretty attractive place to play for a QB right now. Great supporting cast all the way around on both sides of the ball. But I don't believe squat that comes from Florio. I think he's made his living off puffing and Aaron Rodgers stuff he could over the years much of which was manufactured from tiny shreds of maybe something he may have heard somewhere.
I do believe Rodgers want to continue to prove himself and put himself in the best position to be successful is going to be greater than his desire to not follow in Favres footsteps or !@#$ of GB fans by playing for MN or any legacy type stuff. So if MN did want him, I have no doubt that shoots to top of the list for him. But I'm still not believing anything Florio says about Rodgers LOL.

I tend to feel the same way about all of these sports writers, controversy gets clicks and sells ink, rumors get pushed as facts till there proven false and most end up that way, and guys like Floria just create a new rumor.musclestang wrote: ↑03 Apr 2025 10:02MN is a pretty attractive place to play for a QB right now. The perfect place for Rodgers to be relevant is with a team like Minny, he would be a fool for not wanting to go there, they have an offense that fits perfectly for his skillset, if that fails, The Steelers are a good fall back plan, he's still better than half the starting QB's in this league
I like how you questioned Florio's credibility and then concluded that the report sounds pretty credible.
Didn't think I would have to say this, but yeah, the person reporting the thing is not really the interesting part worth discussing, but rather the report itself. And we can tease out how plausible the thing being reported is using our heads. I will admit this is a pet peeve of mine, though (when people proceed to discuss the source and ignore the actual report, when the report... true or not... nonetheless has some legs).
In this case, the report matches up with everything we can observe. Clearly, something is holding back Rodgers from joining PIT, because they would sign him yesterday. Only question is what, and if there is a more convincing explanation than him waiting on MIN, nobody has offered it up.

When I made the Rodgers Watch thread two seasons ago, there was this one guy (I know who, but I'm not gonna be mean and call him out) who would keep responding when I posted rumors, with: " 'Rumor/word is' ... HA!" or "unnamed source... HMPH!" Like, EVERY time. As if to say to all of us "See how smart I am?! I see that these are R U M O R S, and I automatically doubt them!"
.... and practically every single one of those rumors ended up being true.

and who didn't know what Florio spouted long before he turned on the spiget, everyone who has even followed the Rodgers saga even a little bit new of all the interested teams, the Vikings on a personal and coaching level was the best landing spot, Labrev, this isn't exactly rocket science secrets where dealing with here

not always, the temps need to reach around 400 degree, or ignition is not probable, in fact not even likely, Rodgers temp is 98.6go pak go wrote: ↑04 Apr 2025 09:26When there's smoke...there's fire.Labrev wrote: ↑04 Apr 2025 08:50When I made the Rodgers Watch thread two seasons ago, there was this one guy (I know who, but I'm not gonna be mean and call him out) who would keep responding when I posted rumors, with: " 'Rumor/word is' ... could be, but the smartest thing Minny could do IMHO is hire Rodgers to start this season if he'll take a one-year deal, actually I think that's what's holding Minny back, possibly issues going to Pitt as well, Rodgers I expect wants a two year deal.Pckfn23 wrote: ↑03 Apr 2025 09:57I absolutely believe the report.

I could have come up with that report on my own too. It seems rather obvious given the situation. Then toss on Rodgers followed Favre and their careers have been similar and their paths eerily similar as well. Makes it even more interesting. I mean Rodgers to MN seems obvious for all the football reasons there can be. They have their future, but their future is unknown, needs to learn and develop etc. They have the skill players, they have the offensive line, they have a fantastic defense and offense that fits what Rodgers does so well. Rodgers isn't going to be around forever. A year or 2 tops that's it, it's over. Young guy waiting and learning to take off when that end is here. Not languishing on a bench waiting for the HOF'er to hang on year after year.Labrev wrote: ↑04 Apr 2025 08:49I like how you questioned Florio's credibility and then concluded that the report sounds pretty credible.![]()

he's at a stage in his career where he can make a good team great if they can protect him. he can't go to a team and run around and make it all happen anymore so all of those teams are out.
But it's also Florio. I don't think he has any more inside info than anyone else and I don't think he's floating anything unique. pretty much every football fan can see, it is plausible and actually one of the only teams in the league where it makes perfect sense. We've all thought it and talked about it. Given the fact he's made more clicks off Rodgers in the past 8 years or so than anybody, of course he's going to say this. True or not.
and if it ends being so, I'm guessing he's right just like all of us would be, because it makes sense and happened. I don't think he knows anything more than that.

Was just thinking about that this morning. I can if people are still intersted. I'll start working on updating it and create a post about it in the next couple of days.
