From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
But they create the schtik, then sell it as "news" and everyone just consumes it. Rodgers isn't talking, he's a diva, taking his time, leading people on, to be on his own timeline blah, blah, blah. Rodgers talks, he just like to make everything about himself, he can't get enough talking about himself, loves to keep the spot light on him blah, blah blah.
Either way, the media keeps people engaged and enraged. they've built the narrative, they aren't going to let it go LOL
Gotta say, even as early favorites in the Rodgers sweepstakes many months ago, the fit with Rodgers in Pittsburgh was always kind of... off, to me. It was always just "PIT needs a QB, Rodgers has spoken highly of Mike Tomlin." Okay, but, does that really work?
PIT is a team with a reputation for playing and winning on ugly football. That's not Rodgers's style. He also had a tough time with the Jets because the OL was not very good, but PIT also ranks near the bottom at OL pass-pro. Worse, PIT has a reputation for poor pass-blocking. When people think of PIT, they think of Roethlisberger, and how he got killed every year behind that porous OL. NY's OL may have been bad, but they at least don't evoke the feeling of bad OL play like PIT does; there were years where they had a solid OL with players like Ferguson at LT, Mangold at C.
Then you think, the weapons at receiver are good, but does Rodgers really want to deal with the erratic Pickens and malcontent Metcalf when they are not on the same page? The Steelers org is also run a lot like GB, they are not going to grovel at his feet the way he wanted us to do, or the way NY often did. Their FO is not like that, Mike Tomlin certainly is not like that. And, I think he's aware of all the things I've listed.
I don't think he's all-in on PIT now, and I don't think he will be even if/when he eventually signs with them.

who can know the mind of Rodgers? It's been pretty scrambled lately, some would say forever, what's possible is he'll wait for a contender to lose their guy, and come to their rescue (demise ) for a nominal fee
Rodgers likes his face time, who didn't think he would drag this out right up to and possibly past the draft?
Quit flattering yourself. He would never consider the Vikings.
He would if they pay him enough.
I don't think so. Not even for Eleventy Billion dollars.
for a while a month or so back, it seemed like destiny, then Minny tired of his hee haw donkey act and bailed, seems like Pittsburg might be at that boiling point now too, there are only so many bridges
Me thinks that Aaron Rodgers wants to play the game. He can still do it really well. And he actually enjoys it. If there is a team willing to invite him, I think he will go. But we just have to cross Green Bay and the Jets off the list.
Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!
I also think Rodgers wants to play. What else does he have? He’s never married. No kids. He’s still a little estranged from his own family although I’ve heard it’s gotten better.
He just wants to go somewhere that isn’t going to suck. I really don’t understand the Steelers hold up. Seems like a perfect fit to me. Vet coach that knows how to win. Strong defense. Two vertical pass catchers. They just need a new RB who can carry the load.
I do think he really wants the Vikings to call because that’s easily the best situation with that roster and they have two terrific coaches. I also think he really wants to get the chance to stick it to us. That’s just his personality.
'Sounds like the Saints are emerging as a possible landing spot for Rodgers.
I feel like that's a better option than PIT, which I never really loved for him (see above). The weapons on offense are not amazing, but decent. More importantly I think their OL is pretty solid, which I think is more important to his success than the receiver situation.
Kellen Moore is also quite capable as an O coach. Rodgers doing a collab with Arthur Smith to run the offense in PIT sounds like a disaster.
