To be clear I’d keep Jaire. He’s too good a player at a good price point for a CB. That said NFL teams aren’t keeping a player acting the way he does. Doesn’t matter how good they are. Hell Sitton was cut for nothing.

I meant from an NFL perspective. GMs just arent going to pay that for a guy who misses so many games and has attitude issues.

Me, not a retarded GM like 90% of them would accept the risk.

Jaire has always screemed Raven to me. Not even sure of their needs and cap space, but if there’s a trade, I could see him there.

Sounds like at the owners meeting Gutey told Ja's agent that if he is going to be all-in for the Packers he can come back, but if he wants out we need to get something of value for him.

How did Jaire rank before his injury against Jacksonville? I thought he was doing well in the Hafley scheme and seemed happy. Could all of this really be just frustration with the way the med staff handled his injury? If he thinks he can excel in this defense then why not come back, show how good you are and increase your value across the league.

This is the largest risk in all of this. We all knew who Jaw was. Things are great when they are great but these types of players can fall off the deep edge for no apparrent reason.

Although Jaire #23 has head case tendencies, I still think he's a keeper.

Injuries are not just recent bad luck for Jaire, it has been a red-flag with him since college, as a draft prospect. He had a few years of good health in his prime, but he is nearing the end of the prime years and is just not built to play a 17+ game season.

We can't be living on knife's edge with our starting CB, and this is before even factoring in how erratic his attitude can be.

Time to move on. I am convinced we are only holding onto him as trade-bait, either for the draft or shortly thereafter. And good, because I am tired of our guys who can still play good ball going to MIN, like Aaron Jones. Time to take that option away from them.

The situation is really getting weird. Reading between the lines, myself, I think the Packers probably gave some kind of ultimatum for which Jaire balked at and now we at a who blinks first scenario. I also do really think Gute is weighing giving away a top flight CB for nothing. I think the relationships can be repaired and all will be well with a little injury luck, but I don't know that either side will blink. I think if Gute gets an offer for anything of value, it's over. For sure, a Round 3 pick would get it done, but potentially even Round 4 or a player swap.

I think the point he was making about the price point of Jaire was that at his price point he is a good player for what you get playing at that price point of payment.

Another thought I had is that since his trade value is so low right now, you take a gamble on him this year. If it's the same old injured half the year and he's a jerk, cut him. He contract isn't crippling, imo. If he performs, then you can either choose to keep him or trade him when his value is higher.

top CB's =24 mil. Jaire only getting 17, so'oooo that's only enough for, hold on I have to take both shoes off , ya, 13 and 3-quarters games, give or take minus injuries and what not, so IMHO we should bench him in da blowouts

I was listening to some draft pod (can’t remember which) in which the insider-ish speculated that the packers are hanging onto Jaire until the draft to make sure we have a CB room we like before we move him. Not sure if that tracks for me—but thought I’d share.

The whole ordeal confuses me because we was very openly happy with the DC switch at the beginning of last year. Just not sure what’s going on here, and simply “he’s a head case” doesn’t explain enough for me.

If I had to guess, I'd say it probably comes down to money. I think the Packers probably asked him for a pay cut or to restructure his contract which he balked at. Can't blame the player for playing his leverage card here. It's the only thing that makes sense to me as far as why he hasn't publicly expressed desire to move on.
