The only question left to be asked
How much longer are we going to let Gutenass $%@# this team up. Seriously? 3 drafts now and hes gotten us what? Alexander and who?
2018: Alexander is the best and only of the bunch. Josh Jackson? Ass. Burks? Traded up for him and he cant even outplay Kris Barnes. Ass. Moore? Omega Ass. He couldnt even see out his rookie deal. Cole Madison? Super soft wet blanket ass couldnt play and then couldnt see out his rookie deal. JK Scott? Super duper inconsistent ass. MVS? Same as that turd burglar punter. ESB? Ass. Looney? Not here. Hunter Bradley? A $%@# long snapper are you &%$@ me? Kendall Donnerson.
11 $%@# picks and you cant hit more than once?
2019: Gary? Average. Savage? Amputees tackle better with their nubs. Jenkins? Hey good pick $%@# face. Its the first one you made in 13 picks. Sternberger? More like Asperger. Keke? Meh. Hollman? Meh. Summers? Meh.
2020: Love? Doesnt play. Dillon? Doesnt play. Deguara? A $%@# FB. Martin? Oh &%$@ our first contributor taken in this draft in round $%@# 5. Runyan? Cool I guess. Hanson? Cut. Stepaniak? Cut. Scott? Good I guess. Garvin? Meh.
Oh what was that? The FAs? You wanna talk FAs? Were playing Preston Smith a whopping 13.5 million right now to jump offsides and drop into to coverage and be a step behind. Amos even admitted we overpaid him. Turner for as well as hes playing this year I dont think you could find a team willing to pay him more than 5 million a year for his mid 50s PFF grade. Z was a good pickup.
And I know most of you will want to keep him around and say its too early or its not his fault and yadda yadda. I heard the same crap when TT was running the team into the ground. Packers fans love waiting until the water in up to your neck before admitting that the ship MIGHT be sinking.
Absurd. Get this $%@# bum outta here.

Cancelled by the forum elites.
We also traded for Deshone Kizer for... some reason. Apparently, our front-office was big on him that draft year.

no one around here wants to hear this, GPG said today we shouldn't expect to win another ring with Rodgers anyway, so people seem to be content with D&D even if it takes all of the rookie contract for the player to develop and Rodgers retires.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020 19:07How much longer are we going to let Gutenass $%@# this team up. I'd fire the whole defensive staff, all assistants and Pettine.
We traded Kizer for Randel, I'll take a guess where you are going with that.
As for the rest...meh.

2017: 7-9, miss playoffs
Gutey is hired
2018: 6-9-1, miss playoffs, MM is fired
MLF is hired
2019: 13-3 and get to NFC Championship
2020: 7-3 so far and leading the division
While I agree Gutey's drafting has been sub-par to this point, there's just nothing fire-able yet.
Pettine on the other hand...

Yeah this football team is not championship caliber. Is it talent? I think it's deeper then that.Yoop wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020 19:30no one around here wants to hear this, GPG said today we shouldn't expect to win another ring with Rodgers anyway, so people seem to be content with D&D even if it takes all of the rookie contract for the player to develop and Rodgers retires.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020 19:07How much longer are we going to let Gutenass $%@# this team up. I mean play calling in that 2nd half...but come on. How come this offense goes in spurts of 6 plays in a quarter and a half?
I think what really sucks for my internal emotions at least is I don't see the 2021 Packers being better than the 2020 Packers.
This is the best shot this team has IMO. And at least right now we aren't there.
We could certainly turn it on, but it's not looking great.

I think we lose 2nd week of playoffs because feel we will still get the first week bye.
Team just doesn't have the roster to go deep.

Thank you for starting this thread. I’ve been looking for the right place to mention that Aj Dillon looks nothing like a second round draft pick. More like a 5th to my untrained eye. Pretty stiff hips. Another pick several rounds too high.

I’m actually excited about this thread. Finally an appropriate place for me to dump the thoughts as they come to me about how bad Guteys drafts have been.
I’d like to go in this direction for this post:
The reason the Love pick was so awful, is this isn’t 2004 anymore! There aren’t like 8 teams with good QBs and everyone else has no shot bc they can’t find one. The league is saturated with QBs, only like 3? Teams don’t have a decent one. On top of that, guys come in ready to play. Almost all the rookies are looking good quick now if they are going to be good QBs.
On top of that we will never get that window where our qb plays on a rookie deal for cheap as we load up around him.
Malpractice of a draft pick when Patrick Queen was there for the taking!!

I honestly think the answer to this is simple, we refuse to run the ball when it’s working and we are not patient at all.go pak go wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020 20:37Yeah this football team is not championship caliber. This seemed obvious in his game tape. We wanted a Henry but Dillon doesn't move like Henry.
This is big - terrible cap management. Need to get the most out of the rookie deals. Take players who will play because you may get 5 years Elite play on a cheap deal that allows you to go out and get more help for the team. Just real dumb and amateurish.
How can you tell? He hasn't played very much.
With Gute, Murphy, Ball and MFL running the show you have to wonder just who is making these draft decisions. "Too many cooks spoil the broth".

MLF can make suggestions, and Murphy can veto a pick, like if they try to draft a convicted rapist or something, but 99.9% of the time it is Gutey's call. Ball's area seems to be strictly contracts and monitoring the salary cap.

ahhh, don't know how you can be so confident about that CL, to me this seems like Murphy's team in the sense that he seems much more involved now since Ted stepped down or was fired, or whatever the real reason was for his eventual departure.Crazylegs Starks wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020 12:54MLF can make suggestions, and Murphy can veto a pick, like if they try to draft a convicted rapist or something, but 99.9% of the time it is Gutey's call. Gute has to be one of the youngest GM's in the league, his coaching and scouting resume only goes back to 1995, anyway if Gutes had the last word, I'd like him to listen to the others more

I feel confident in that because we've never gotten so much as a hint that Murphy is a micro-manager. From the outside looking in, he seems to be somewhat detached from the everyday football stuff and only gets involved if his subordinates can't get on the same page, not unlike Bob Harlan. (Full disclosure, I'm basing some of this opinion on his "Take 5" column where he answers fan questions.)Yoop wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020 14:07ahhh, don't know how you can be so confident about that CL, to me this seems like Murphy's team in the sense that he seems much more involved now since Ted stepped down or was fired, or whatever the real reason was for his eventual departure.Crazylegs Starks wrote: ↑23 Nov 2020 12:54MLF can make suggestions, and Murphy can veto a pick, like if they try to draft a convicted rapist or something, but 99.9% of the time it is Gutey's call. As I trashed Guteys drafts earlier and really thought the ONLY good pick he brought us in 3 drafts was Jaire...I do have to give credit where it is due and admit that Elgton Jenkins seems like a great pick and another long term staple on the line. Happy too have him on the team.

Who knows what is going to happen? Compared to Ron Wolf's drafts Gutey's drafts are blah. All I know right now is the big window is still there with Aaron Rodgers running a great offense. But seemingly we can't get out of our own way defensively. This could go many ways........the Mike Sherman way is less likely to happen again ......... and conversely the Ron Wolf way is less likely to happen again as well. MLF can overcome anything offensively. Defensively I am not so sure. Winning the North is one thing ......... winning the NFC Championship Game is another thing. I read Bob Harlan's book and he said under his regime when he was the top executive in the front office it was all about the play of the field. Today I am not convinced that the Packers front office is really ALL IN for the play of the field. I don't know if Gutey is really the GM like Ron Wolf was the GM. Wolf was constantly on the road scouting college players ......... don't know if Gutey does that or not. Harlan gave Wolf the keys to 1265 ....... I don't see Gutey having the keys to 1265. Maybe Gutey will simply greatly improve due to more experience and next year's draft will be great. Or he'll get run out of town like Sherman waslupedafiasco wrote: ↑22 Nov 2020 19:07How much longer are we going to let Gutenass $%@# this team up. Seriously? 3 drafts now and hes gotten us what? The Drafts have been below average. However Gute has done better than average in FA. I’ve got to give him props for the Smith bros and Amos. He was able to get Ervin off waivers.
We also have to realize there was no preseason this year for guys to develop.
I do think he really blew it this last draft at least in the first 4 rounds.
