Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I don't think I want the Vikings to lose. I feel it may be better to keep the carrot dangling for them to beat the Saints.
Yet again, a loss may put them in a spot where they HAVE to beat the Saints.

PFT Picksem
Packers (-7.5) at Lions
MDS’s take: The Lions looked like they were playing harder for interim head coach Darrell Bevell last week, but they just don’t have the personnel to beat the Packers.
MDS’s pick: Packers 24, Lions 21.
Florio’s take: Last week’s win gives the Lions slim hopes for the postseason. Those hopes will be dashed by Aaron Rodgers.
Florio’s pick: Packers 31, Lions 17.
In the financial world, there's the concept of The Dead Cat Bounce, which relates to the idea that Stock Markets often have a little positive bounce back after a precipitous drop. That concept happens in the NFL when a team fires its HC and the players and remaining coaches rally after the firing. We saw this in the Lions ( a dead cat if ever there was one) last week when they came from behind to beat the bears
I'm glad that bounce is over, and just like in the financial world- reality comes home to roost soon enough and the Lions realize they suck and really have nothing to play for. I hope the Packers can help them with that realization early and often.
MLF and his offense has staked the Packers to some big leads early and I hope that happens on Sunday. Helping to drain what little motivation the Lions have left as they roll through yet another December....where they have nothing to play for.

Detroit has a legit QB. That makes them 300 times better than what Philly or the Bears had to offer lately. I am not overly concerned though, we'll win 75-60 or something.
Interesting you think that way about Stafford, yet have superhuman expectations of Packers players. Because Stafford sorta has the skillset (and bank account) of a franchise QB, but the man can't just get to the tippy-top level to win consistently. Sure, the organization has been a fustercluck for a long time, but not big enough catastrophe that a great QB couldn' lift them into contention. Stafford has zero wins in the playoffs. Just too many INTs, a tad too much inconsistency.German_Panzer wrote: ↑10 Dec 2020 16:43Detroit has a legit QB. That makes them 300 times better than what Philly or the Bears had to offer lately. TRIVIA TIME - I've been following the Packers since 1997. The Lions have won the NFC North how many times during that time?

A) I want Stafford to leave, he is legit really good, super bowl winning good. Want him to have a fair chance.salmar80 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2020 17:20Interesting you think that way about Stafford, yet have superhuman expectations of Packers players. B) Better way to phrase that, the Buccaneers have more recently won this division than have the Lions.
In addition to AJ Dillon returning to practice...Equanimeous St. Brown (concussion) also returned to practice.
He moved through the concussion protocol pretty quick if he's back at practice today, that's more good news
If you recall, EQ had a monster game at Detroit back in his rookie year, hopefully he has another on Sunday

Tampa Bay has won the NFC North more times in the last three decades than Detroit.

I honestly felt bad for the Lions in 2013 while I was rooting for Baltimore to beat them Monday Night so we could win the division at 8-7-1.BF004 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2020 19:32And that would be another way to say it.Ghost_Lombardi wrote: ↑10 Dec 2020 18:50Tampa Bay has won the NFC North more times in the last three decades than Detroit.
