Yep, NBA is not like NFL. These 5 could win it all, just need some decent fillers and we are a shoe in for the playoffs.NCF wrote: ↑17 Nov 2020 07:36What they had was nothing. Yeah, it sucks to lose George Hill and Donte (a little bit), but if we play this group of 5 normal starters minutes and add a few ring chasers, we should have a pretty deep team. Still need a big man on the bench. RoLo declined his option. That helps us because he was so bad, but also one of those guys that you like to have around because he's big and a good teammate.
Trading DJ Wilson & Ersan is icing on the cake.

Adding a couple of 2nd-rounders to build the bottom of the roster on the cheap.

And what if Giannis still says no and moves on to greener pastures?
Then these become some very bad, desperate moves. To me, this signals Giannis is staying.

Yep, pretty much.
I would expect the Milwaukee front office received some reasonable assurances from the Giannis camp before going all-in like that. Now it becomes a matter of Giannis reciprocating the trade acts with a signature.

At the same time, if you know you cant resign him. You could either trade him now for some picks and youth and be irrelevant for a while unless you nail some picks again. Do nothing, compete with what we got, hope for the best, then let him walk. Or just go all out and do everything you can to win the championship this year then just hit reset on the salaries, trade away any remaining pieces for picks and start from scratch.
To me, it signals that Giannis wanted to see an improved roster and this is what the Bucks are doing to improve the roster.
To me, it doesn’t signal anything, positive or negative, about Giannis staying in Milwaukee. If I was him, I’d go to a bigger city or a better basketball town - he’s waaaaaay more marketable then how he’s being marketed right now. He’s losing out on money staying in Milwaukee.
Maybe I am naïve, but I believe him when he says he likes it here and wants to win a championship in Milwaukee. I should be very careful in my wording here because the company that I work for represents Giannis, but maybe he needs to be marketed differently. I just don't buy the you have to go to LA or NY to be a big star.

I could totally be wrong too but that’s why I said a bigger city or a real basketball town. Milwaukee isn’t a basketball town. There are plenty of better basketball markets where he could make a lot more marketing money.NCF wrote: ↑17 Nov 2020 13:25Maybe I am naïve, but I believe him when he says he likes it here and wants to win a championship in Milwaukee. I hope he stays so the Bucks stay relevant. But I wouldn’t blame him at all for leaving.
Ersan has now been waived. Bucks might as well move to Seattle. What the hell are they doing? Giannis can't be happy with these screw ups.

Wanted to just say the NBA is an absolute joke for trying to do what they're doing to the Bucks.
Tampering? The NBA has been full of tampering for years and they do nothing about it. Lo and behold, here comes Milwaukee and they have a problem with it.
Lebron gets away with it. Durant got away with it. Kwitter was already in LA at the start of free agency last year and it was immediately announced he was joining the Clips, everything was lined up beforehand. Huge stars, large markets, that's what gets you away with it.
The Bucks are not getting away with it because they're a small market, and the NBA gets nothing with Giannis being in Milwaukee. They'll do everything they can do make sure he doesn't stay there, including killing trades.
