I really do not care if he has out performed any LB we have. That is not even something I remotely talked about. I was ONLY referring to Queen and his performance.Yoop wrote: ↑16 Dec 2020 12:35seriously Queen has out performed any ILB we have including Kirksey Barnes, Martin, etc, and has more tackles then any Packer player. you guys snubbed him mostly because I liked him, normal for this forumPckfn23 wrote: ↑16 Dec 2020 10:36If you judge him as a starting NFL inside linebacker against all other starting NFL inside linebackers he has not had a good season. He has shown flashes of potential, but that does not mean his season as a whole has been a good or even average one. Those flashes show that he can get there and that he CAN BE a good inside linebacker in the future, but this year, he hasn't been.

exactly, anyone would have helped more then Love, and we do not know how well Queen would have done on this defense, for anyone to say he sucks with the Ravens so he would have sucked here is just spouting double talk, Hayward went to the PB the year after leaving here and players obviously play better in one scheme over another regularly.salmar80 wrote: ↑16 Dec 2020 12:58It's a very valid opinion that Queen (or a WR or DL) would've helped us out this year and next couple of years more than Jordan Love. It's totally fine to be against the Love pick.NCF wrote: ↑16 Dec 2020 12:45A couple of things...
1.) No one does things just to spite you
2.) I like Queen, loved him in The Draft
3.) He has NOT outperformed our guys in any way other than in volume statistics
4.) I think anyone here would trade any of our guys for Queen... even all of our guys for Queen... but that doesn't necessarily mean anyone should expect an uptick in production NOW. Next year, the future? Absolutely. Now? Maybe, maybe not. A lot of metrics suggest one would not be smart to bet on it.
None of this means Queen has played on super high level this year. He would not have made us a ton better THIS YEAR, maybe a tiny bit, but he wouldn't have skyrocketed our ILB corps into instant respectability. Maybe Queen blossoms into a rock star next season and we'll shed some envy tears and curse Gutey to heck. Before that, let's win a SB without Queen.
Also, would've been cool to have both a King and a Queen on the D.
we talk D&D here all the time, we all know it's the 2nd year when we can expect a leap, and I'am on record saying ILB, or the coverage part of it is a tough learning curve for a Rookie, he may not have been the answer this year, but he would have shown more promise then anyone we have now.

LITERALLY, no one said this.for anyone to say he sucks with the Ravens so he would have sucked here is just spouting double talk
LITERALLY, no one disagrees with this.he may not have been the answer this year, but he would have shown more promise then anyone we have now.
The disagreement is over Queen having a good year or no, THIS YEAR. *HINT* - He hasn't.

I mean in a vaccuum I am pretty sure everyone here, if given the choice between having Patrick Queen, a clear forum favorite and my #1 Draft Crush, or Krys Barnes as the potential future of the ILB spot for the Packers would make the same decision.
And it ain't Krys Barnes.
But as Packfn23 said, that wasn't was discussed on this thread.

I have literally been calling out Queen for a week before you joined the convo, pretty sure I don't have that kind of vision to spite you. Only guy I remember you really liking was Jefferson. I liked Queen a lot, I wanted him. I still want him, but he certainly has not outperformed our guys by any type of credible metric to date. I would still expect him at this point to be better than any linebacker we have, other than maybe Martin who has shown some real skill in my opinion.

Patrick Queen, Patrick Queen, Patrick Queen, Patrick Queen!
What does Queen have to do with General Packers News??? This should be it's own thread. Heck, lump it into a giant ILB, TJ Watt, Patrick Queen, WR-fever mega thread.

Honestly I think the stupid team photo is great.
Like, 35 years from now when a kid Packers fan is looking through old team photos in some media guide or something or on the website, the kid'll be like "what's that all about?" and we'll tell the story of the pandemic year when we won the Super Bowl
But honestly, I like that it's different to mark the different kind of year. I think that's appropriate. I think they COULD have taken a better picture. But they SHOULD have taken the one they went with. I don't see it as virtue signaling at all; merely a representation that this season is strange AF

No one else is comparing Queen to OUR players... Where did I compare Queen to our players?
BTW that is 33rd in total tackles. A volume stat. Barnes, Martin, and Kirksey have all missed significant time and thus would not accumulated tackles, regardless of how well or not well they have played.

Let's do this... just for fun.
Queen - 92 tackles / 13 games = 7.1 tackles per game
Kirksey - 61 tackles / 8 games = 7.6 tackles per game
Now what?
Read More. Post Less.

really, you keep disputing me on this, OUR guys have sucked, you turn the term "in fact" against me to mean cut in stone hard evidence instead of what I obviously meant which is according to eye ball review Queen would have to be in a comma not to out play Barnes, Martin and obviously Kirksey, I only saw Queen play one game, he had a bunch of tackles and was at the point off attack on every play, you disagree, well others also agree with me.
never saw your previous post concerning Queen.
ya I had a much longer post now as well, thought better of it and deleted everything but this.
I was all sorts of excited Sunday when MVS had a great game, didn't drop any balls, and was the best producer on offense.
I thought "YES!" no posts about Jefferson. Packers are the front shot at the top seed. Life is good! It will be about Packers and the Panthers all week!
But the forum gods are a like.....hold my beer.

KIrksey's tackles cost 10 times more then Queens and he probably gave up twice the yards making them .
hey it is what it is, we actually should have fixed this position a yr or two back, but when somkeone says the #33 defensive sucks as a rookie it don't jive.

HE IS NOT THE #33 RATED DEFENSIVE PLAYER!!!
#33 simply refers to how many total tackles he has in a list of all players with tackles...

No one said sucks
And yes, a PFF grade of 28 does jive. Certainly isn't a perfect grading system, but there is a very strong correlation. Not sure why you keep ignoring that grade and are obsessed with trying to make Patrick Queen seem like he had a better year than what he is having.

No I don't think that's true. I am curious what the ranking actually is. But if it was ranked by total tackles, it would then go 1, 2, 3, 4,....because it is already sorted by tackle number.
Like I said I don't know how it's calculated. Also interesting that Bobby Wagner is #11 here for ILBs but last week Bobby Wagner was the most impactful and important defensive player in the NFL.
according to ESPN it does, look at the list, it doesn't go from 1 then 2 and so on, it separates them numerically depending how they did in other techniques, over all Queen is in that 30 to 40 range

It is solo tackles, sorry, not total tackles. On PFR, it is total tackles. The number on the left on ESPN is how they were sorted after week 12. They have yet to update that number after week 13. For example Roquan smith led the league in tackles after week 12. Now he is 3rd.go pak go wrote: ↑16 Dec 2020 14:22No I don't think that's true. I am curious what the ranking actually is.
