Titans @ Packers - SNF GDT - 12/27 7:25 CST
Moderators: NCF, salmar80, BF004, APB, Packfntk
The game opened at Packers -4.5, and the pro-Titans bettors pushed that all the way to Packers -2.5 and for a short period Packers -2
Once it dipped below 3, the Packer bettors all came in and pushed it back up to -3 and moved the money line from being 60 % bet on the Titans to right now its showing 77 % of the action is on the Packers to win the game. That's a huge swing
In close and popular match-ups like these, the betting line moves around so Vegas can capture as much cash as possible on both sides. So they start by dangling a very Titan-friendly line and then watch it move toward the Packers until it crosses the magic line and the Packer bettors jump in.
Its a game within the game and these guys are exceptionally good at understanding and capitalizing on the betting public.

IT. IS. TIME
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
My defensive goals for the night.
Keep them under 27 points.
Hold Henry under 130 Yards.
Keep their offense under 400 yards.
Limit the explosive plays and we have a shot at this. The Titans feast on the 40+ yards more than anyone.

I feel like this is the type of game that will really test Savage. They're going to need to crowd the box a little more and devote some time, energy, and attention to the run game schematically.
So that will leave Savage probably as the lone coverage safety and last line of defense helping out our CBs on a talented set of WRs who can win downfield.
If Savage plays well enough that we can dedicate Amos closer to the l.o.s. and the deep balls are still tough to come by, we're in good shape. This is what I had in mind when I advocated for safeties that run in the 4.3s instead of the mold of DBs that are too slow to play CB.

It's what I've said all season, we can win this if we limit our mistakes - dumb penalties & turnovers. If we can play a clean game we can beat anyone.
Packers win, 34 - 31.

This is the most emotionally charged meaningless Packers game I can recall .... other than the Bears Packers games in the 1980s when Forrest Gregg was the Head Coach.
If the Rams win their ongoing game vs the Seahawks, we can secure the no 1 seed with a win tonight. So not necessarily meaningless.RingoCStarrQB wrote: ↑27 Dec 2020 16:05This is the most emotionally charged meaningless Packers game I can recall .... other than the Bears Packers games in the 1980s when Forrest Gregg was the Head Coach.
It honestly comes down to turnovers. I believe I heard we are like 10-0 in the MLF era when we have 0 turnovers. But honestly it's probably more wins than that. I would guess we have more games than 10 of 0 turnovers.
I find it interesting that the "experts" talk all about Henry and how he will run all over us but not a word about how bad the Titans defense is. We complain about ours but theirs is even worse. If we don't screw up with turnovers and penalties I don't know how they are gonna stop us.

The Titans clinch the division with a win, right, because the Colts lost?
The Packers lunatic fringe is more visible because of sheer numbers. The Packers have one of the largest fan bases in all of sports. If the fringe percentage is the same as with other teams, then we end up with larger volumes of nut jobs. - JustJeff
Looks like tonight is for pride primarily.
We gotta beat the Bears.

Swirling winds here tonight

Love the pics, Bogey...thanks!
Oh.
It looks like it is going to be snowing all game. I don't think this is going to be passing air attack I was hoping for earlier.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Packers Bears gets flexed now at the least to 3:25 if not Sunday Night.
The Sunday Night Game will likely either be Rams vs Cardinals or Packers vs Bears.
