From Lambeau to Lombardi, Holmgren, McCarthy and LaFleur and from Starr to Favre, Rodgers and now Jordan Love we’re talking Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers football. This Packers Forum is the place to talk NFL football and everything Packers. So, pull up a keyboard, make yourself at home and let’s talk some Packers football.
But I will also say that I for sure didn't see his head hit anything
That's a function of the video angle. His head decelerates rapidly and 100% he was concussed. His hand clenches and his leg goes rigid- those are 2 telltale signs of having a concussion. You also see it when he tries to stand up and and can't. No balance at all.
He's in the protocol and without a previous concussion history, fair chance he will make it back for the game on Sunday.
But he won't be practicing till Fri/Sat at the earliest.
Rivers is HOF, been having that debate all morning with buddies. He was a heck of a QB for his career. I will miss seeing that awkward sidearm and grit and competitiveness.

I think he probably is; the tough part is just how many QBs will be heading that way

I have been arguing with myself about it . I guess yes, let him in, but not 1st ballot. Such a long time of quality production, 8 Pro Bowls, definitely carried his team for a long time, legend for his team. 12th best all time in Pro Football Reference's career AV (everyone in top 40 either already is in HoF or will be).
I don't think the "no SBs" -argument has much merit (it's a team game), but no 1st team All-Pro honors is something to consider. There always was a QB or few better than Rivers in the league. He wasn't head and shoulders above his peers. Did Rivers change the game in some way? I don't see it. Those are things I personally look for in 1st ballot entries.
Maybe OK on the SB argument, but doesn't the regular season count? 3 of 4 at the start were good/great, and 2 of 3 at the end. In the middle were eight straight years of mediocrity.

I probably have a similar attitude toward Rivers as YoHo has toward Brees. Not real fond of the guy, tbh. Good player, I will give him that, just not sorry he never got a ring.

Best QB the NY Giants have ever drafted.
And yet only Tom Brady has more SB rings than the guy the Giants traded since the trade.

What a joke.
My head hurts trying to pin this down, but about whom are you talking? Two SB wins is a pretty common number, but Bradshaw, Montana, and Aikman all have more. Maybe it's too early today, but the only Giants trade I see in the context of Rivers is Eli.

oops. Boy how a single word can make a difference.
Rivers was better than Peyton Manning in 2008, had a stretch from then till 2010-11 where he was a top fourish guy, with his compiling I think he'll get in eventually
I used to think Rivers was without a doubt a HOF QB. Like it was no question he would be in within 5 years of eligibility. I'm not so sure anymore. During this era I just dont think he was good enough compared to his peers. Brady, both Mannings, Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Brees, and now this next era up all outperformed him with rings, awards, and playoffs consistency.
Its not exactly fair because a lot of his dips in production was his team failing him from a talent and management perspective but thats the way the cookie crumbles.
