inconsistent, lost his 2nd season, but came back with 11 sacks his 3rd, then just 3 his 4th season, and Houston let him go, with Philly he had 14.5 sacks in 2014, from his PD stats it's safe to assume Connor dropped into coverage often, so I think some of his pass rush decline or on and off again years might be scheme related, I remember you liked him a lot that year.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑22 Jan 2021 16:29I felt really strongly that Connor Barwin was just as good as Clay Matthews without the wild draft capital we gave up for him.
That didn't pan out too well.

As yoop's main adversary in Gary debates (I literally coined #GaryGang in opposition to the naysayers), I can confirm he DID in fact hate Gary the player, with everything from accusations that nobody had him as a 1st-round pick to the idea he was just an athlete-in-pads and saying that those types of prospects just go on to work at McDonald's because athleticism is not enough (which is true, but neglected the example of many players who became better pros than college players).
*edit* he also insisted that we "drafted a backup" not simply because he wouldn't start as a rookie, but he believed that the Smiths' contract precluded him from starting for the length of his rookie contract. I notice he's moving away from that second part now to just slamming the pick for not starting as a rookie, which of course is very common for rookies, even those drafted in the Top 15.
You might be the Gary adversary Labrev, but here just entered Yoop's archenemies Pckfn23. Sometimes you just want to watch the forum burn and bathe in unbridled chaos. And nobody does it as well as he does. Yoop has never been able to vanquish him, because there's the no killing "rule" and always pursuit to prove he's the better. On the other hand Pckfn wants to break him mentally, but also cannot kill, as he gives him meaning.
These two arguably have the greatest unintentional relationship in the long history of PackersNews.

Doing the list was very tough this year. A lot of unknowns, and no OTA or camp hype to elevate any lesser known guys. No pre-season peek at how LaFleur's scheme model 2020 would work.
Tonyan and Patrick sure got shafted, Ervin and Lewis in a lesser way.

Bravo! I think go pak go has taken over the reigns though. I still pop up every once and a while like a bad case of herpes, but go pak go is doing the heavy lifting these days.TheGreenMan wrote: ↑23 Jan 2021 09:26Labrev wrote: ↑22 Jan 2021 14:46lol

This thread has taken a seriously surreal, albeit entertaining, turn...
Yeah I am still surprised how I became hit-man number one but no question I have taken the torch. It started after the Chiefs Game in 2019 and primarily was due to me making the stance that our offense shouldn't have to depend on 3 high level/high investment WRs to be able to go and to work. I used our October success without Adams as a base for the argument and it just blew up from there. Packfn23, Labrev and APB were definitely part of the spat as well.Pckfn23 wrote: ↑23 Jan 2021 10:28Bravo! I think @go pak go has taken over the reigns though. But my biggest thing in 2019 was I couldn't comprehend or understand why our offense wasn't more successful when we had an All-Pro LT, All-Pro QB, Blue chip RB and All-Pro WR. When you have all the "boxes checked"...it must actually means one box is checked when it shouldn't be checked and I started questioning #12 a lot due to a trend we saw from 2015 - 2019. And it got out of control.
Now for this year...I also recognized early that #12 looked very different and for that reason I started the Aaron Freaking Rodgers Thread where the drama went to a whole new level. On a thread I started because I recognized we had a very different Rodgers and one we as fans should be very excited for in 2020. I figured the "box would be checked" for 2020 and look at how our offense has done because of it.

Oh Lord, here it comes!

How cool is this? I just think it is so cool for us as fans that this is now the 6th NFCCG we have gotten to play since 2007. We are very blessed.
get serious, if ya lose the WR's a certain scheme requires then how can you blame the QB for the offensive struggles, and that was the case from 2015 on, and when you change the schemes to MLF then that situation doesn't just go away, players have to learn the new schemes.
hopefully Rodgers is protected long enough so that our #2 through # 4 and 5 receivers get open, I can't grasp how you simply neglect reality, we don't have receivers that consistently get open in a 2 count, and against steller pass rush those are the weapons ya need, ya we better be able to run the ball, because it hopefully will slow the pass rush.
I'll never waver concerning my opinions about this, we have Adams who consistently beats defenders off the LOS, and thats it, hope he's enough come Sunday.

I can look at it as being very blessed, but also... it's sad that we've only made it through it a single time since then.

what do you have something against playing in super bowls? better WR's help a team play in super bowls, it's a fact, look it up
3 high grading WR????? that would be a luxury, I'd be happy with 2, all I've ever asked for is 2, WE GOT ONE, the rest are #3 and 4 receivers, you live in lala land.Yoop wrote: ↑23 Jan 2021 11:17get serious, if ya lose the WR's a certain scheme requires then how can you blame the QB for the offensive struggles, and that was the case from 2015 on, and when you change the schemes to MLF then that situation doesn't just go away, players have to learn the new schemes.
