Last thing I saw was many in league thinks its Leonard 's if he wants it. Others think its Evero. Clearly the race is narrowing.

Im partial to Leonard. On one hand I feel like his players do play hard for him and they bring it on gamedays. You can tell hes inspires energy and toughness from the teams hes coached. On the other hand theyre just college players and mostly home grown at that probably playing for a team theyve always dreamed of playing for.
When I hear Leonard talking about building Wisconsin toughness and strength I love to hear it. I dont know if that is going to appeal to professional players not from the area.

Okay I am all in on Leonard.
I have no bias to him because I'm not a Wisconsin boy. But Leonard is described as everything I wanted in a coach here and I was honestly thinking this last night when I started watching interviews after the tweets that he was our guy.

How does Silverstein know this? Is he speculating or is someone at 1265 or Madison leaking? Leonard might be a front runner but I'm wondering if MLF is waiting to interview a candidate from on or both of the SB participants and this is why no announcement has been made yet.
Herman explains this very well, Just because Leonard has only been a coach for a short time, he's run the defense at WI as well as any other DC in the college ranks, and that bit about him picking up what Belechick and NE where doing that helped stop it just shows that he has a very high football IQ, Leonard seems to be a perfect fit, lives and wants to stay in WI., uses a 34 scheme, very aggressive play caller, and has great balance of pass rush and coverage, and he's short like Lafluer, so they should see eye to eye, whats not to likego pak go wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021 06:58Okay I am all in on Leonard.

The one thing I consider for Leonard is does he actually want the job?
I mean I'm sure this is his childhood dream. He would be coaching his team he idolized growing up. But it's also a risk because would if it doesn't go well? Certainly we have our share of history of DC's not doing well in GB and would he want his name associated with a team and state he loves so much as a loser?
That's really the only reason I could see him saying now. It's a big risk if it doesn't work out.

I suppose he felt the same way when taking the Badgers job, could he be balking because of money? he makes 1.3 m at WI now, I would think/hope that we would pay more.go pak go wrote: ↑06 Feb 2021 08:20The one thing I consider for Leonard is does he actually want the job?

always felt that Leonard like a lot of short people feel they have something to prove, sorta born with a chip on there shoulder, Leonard bounced around the NFL quite a bit, and probably it had to do with teams wanting more length (a taller player), imo it inspires shorter players to be there very best, never being satisfied, always trying to do better, Leonard is young, on the way up the coaching ladder, I have no doubt Jim will burn the mid night oil, he's my choice too.
I am not a huge WI Badgers fan, but I will say the one game I really paid attention to this year was the Michigan game. They trotted out a QB that couldn't throw and Leonhard went for the damn jugular. 9 and 10 man boxes and I think at one point mid-2nd Quarter, if I remember correctly, they had blitzed on something ridiculous like 19 of 21 snaps or something like that.
That is really what I want. Find a weakness, attack it, when they adjust, you adjust. Repeat.

I got really excited.
Aw man, just as ya'll had sold me on Leonhard.
Evero time (but also, interview Foote & Rodgers from Tampa).

I fully expect him to be the Badgers HC one day. Maybe not Chryst's successor, but someday.
RIP JustJeff
Yeah. I have seen some rumors that he is in line to succeed Chryst whenever that day comes. Certainly coaching security is much better in college than the NFL, as well. One bad year and we would all be calling for his head, so I get it.
