Without the Underwear Olympics this is going to be a long wait until the draft.

Ok, I kind of like Joe Barry already. Makes joke about ice fishing for 5 hours and not catching anything but still having a blast, and he's proud of himself for doing it.

Joe Barry's nickname has to be "Dad". He dresses like my dad, talks and acts like my dad.

Not really feeling Barry until that very last question. Now, pretty excited. That's a pretty big promise without "making promises", though.

I bet you he's got a color coded schedule of events posted. Lunch at 12:15. Lawn darts at 2:25.

Lots of promises and guarantees from Drayton. I hope he can do it.

Missed them live so I'll have to wait until they're posted after the fact, but it sounds like we got some clues about the defense... that the Rams-style is what we're looking at more so than some of his earlier-career stuff. Hopefully that will be enough for some more-detailed analysis of how we fit and what we're looking for.

Sounds like its all about dbs and pass rush. They going to draft both positions early and prob often imo

I like that gute says they can get a high end FA if they feel its right.

I really feel it could be wr fuller or Samuel. (ML loves fuller) and a cb vet. Jackson is my choice but cool with Rhodes.

Probably. And Gutey said they expect Preston Smith back. I've always thought it was premature to assume he'd be cut. Especially with Barry coming in (some familiarity there). Might be a restructure candidate.

Maybe they actually place priority on the Star Cornerback this year rather than hope Raven Greene can give us more than 50 snaps in a season?

could we get some moderation in here to get rid of conspiracy theory's, some in here are trying to have a adult conversation.

actually I've been pumping up Martin and Barnes quite a bit.

I didn't get to watch the Gute part of these press conferences concerning Prestine, lis he had about 45 pressures last year, so just because the sacks where down he still had a decent pressure count, another point is that all pressure counts where lower last year, sack count to, I really think not having off season training last year hurt defense and pass rushers a lot.

I liked what Barry had to say, he stressed how important nickel corner will be in his plans, it's very probable/possible that we will see Jaire moving in and out as we saw with Woodson years ago, we've tried a lot of CB's in the slot, is anyone impressed? sounds like thats gonna change.

What does this mean schematically? I'm not familiar with the term.

Based on Barry today. Star = Nickle. So essentially your 3rd DB who plays 80% of the snaps and their coverage responsibilities are not on the outside boundary.

Per Barry, it is advantageous when you have multiple CBs who can play the star role so the opposing offense doesn't always know who will cover the interior of the field.
