Seriously though. Patrick Peterson is my final "hope" FA signing. Like I would be pretty jacked if he comes to GB on a 2 year deal.

I think Will Fuller would make me excited if we get him for SUUUUPER cheap (isn't he suspended?)
But I am like okay with our offense at this point. We need a corner and if Peterson comes to GB, we actually have a chance at significantly improving our secondary from last year with Peterson as well as a good draft pick.
Golladay isn't happening. And honestly I bet Peterson will be too expensive too.
Like I was ALL in on the JJ Watt thing....until I heard we may have a shot at Patrick Peterson which made step back on my enthusiasm. I would rather have Peterson over Watt.
But again I have absolutely zero clue on what Peterson's market is panning out to be on this 3rd contract.
There is a lot of chatter that teams aren't enamored with Golladay and don't view him as a #1. The WR market is not good this year (for the players). You are going to see a lot of smaller 1 year deals for guys. I think its very possible we sign him or someone else.

I would rather go defense with our free agent signings, now that we signed Jones.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
I agree. There was one WR I wanted and that was Allen Robinson. Even Golladay and Fuller seem like modest upgrades compared to the cost required. Use The Draft and find a couple we like. Better long-term options, probably comparable short-term options, and a fraction of the cost.

To me it's a forgone conclusion we get a CB.
So we are going D. But then also making a splash on O.
But whatevs, not actively lobbying for it, just really like Will Fuller and Golloday and their fits in this O.

Our receiver group is akin to having a 357 magnum revolver with one chamber loaded with a hand loaded 357 round and the rest loaded with 38 specials, we need more hand loaded bulletsgo pak go wrote: ↑17 Mar 2021 08:32I think Will Fuller would make me excited if we get him for SUUUUPER cheap (isn't he suspended?)

I don’t want to spend anymore on WR. We drafted a rb in round 2 and resigned 33 for a reason. If we commit to using those guys we don’t need more than an adams, Tonyan, and the compliment of Lazard and MVS.
We just have to actually do what Lafleur claims with his lips to want to do..which is run the ball.
So many times as soon as we are down 7 we have no patience and try to get the score back in like 3 plays with deep passes and no runs. If we want to keep that up, sure we need another WR.
If we can be patient and stick to the plan the coach says he wants to run, and the gm shows he wants to run based on where he has placed his capital...then I think we have plenty on offense.
Now let’s get a DLmen or CB.
If we don’t, those two positions will probably cost us in the playoffs next year like they have the past two years.

You look at those Shanahan and McVay offenses though, those guys go crazy for WRs, from Atlanta to the Rams to the 9ers. The resources they all invested in WR is significant. Not always great returns, but they’ve all damn sure tried.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the Packers get their eventually.

Our run/pass ratio was 7th highest in the league, we won 13 games, and had the league's #1 offense. I think we did alright on that front.Drj820 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2021 09:53I don’t want to spend anymore on WR. We drafted a rb in round 2 and resigned 33 for a reason. we run better out of some sort of motion or play action with a slot receiver, we need a replacement for Ervin, and next year we have 4 receivers due to hit UFA, agreed we should try and get a CB and DT, and also a slot receiver, sure we can jet Jones some, but when he's the lead RB we need someone else to do it, Ervin was good at it and cheap, we need to find another.Drj820 wrote: ↑17 Mar 2021 09:53I don’t want to spend anymore on WR. just trying to bring a little levity to this very serious room
Yup. It's the story of the Packers the last decade. When you look at high level stats vs the league....we are awesome.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑17 Mar 2021 09:59Our run/pass ratio was 7th highest in the league, we won 13 games, and had the league's #1 offense. When you put yourself on 3 critical drives in a game in January....
it makes Packers fans sad and therefore has us think of all sorts "ways" we can solve our problems this time of year to get where we want to go.
Love it.
Yeah I just don't think we have much more resources for a FA signing. So if I am to choose what little remaining room we may possibly have, I would rather put those resources to our defense.
As always, improving any position during any offseason is good. And if Golladay or Fuller end up being the best bargain for us...so be it and take it.
