The fact Chicago did not report a transaction (yet) for Kyle Fuller is something to monitor. Allegedly, and logically, the Denver Broncos are set to pursue Kyle once he’s available. He’ll surely be in hot demand if he is a free agent. Perhaps a last minute discussion has happened involving Kyle Fuller and the Denver Broncos to the point they’re willing to trade for him.
For those wondering if the Bears and Fuller are re-considering their actions...I have some news for you. The Bears reportedly agreed to terms with CB Desmond Trufant on Friday afternoon. More moves are also expected between now and the draft. That will likely slam the door shut on this relationship between a star corner and his original team. We’ll keep you all up to date as we learn more on this situation

Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
Color me surprised that Golladay actually got what he was asking for.

No Fuller for us. 1 year 9.5m to the Broncos. I'm betting he wanted a Fangio reunion.

BTW, with all these 1-year deals getting done this off-season, the 2022 UFA is gonna be NUTS!
There are gonna be soooo many players available. A normal UFA class from the 2018 draft + all of these prove-it deal guys.
Drool.

We probably won’t be able to afford any with the upcoming Adams and Alexander deals.

Landing Kyle Fuller would have been awesome, but the fact that he has been shipped out of the division (out of the conference, even) itself is a win for us.

Im surprised there hasnt been any kevin King news. If he ends up getting 0 interest i wonder if the packers would want him back for say under 4m for 1 year or something.
I would bring him back for cheap. He wasnt great, but better than anyone else we have on the roster...by far.
The second best corner on the team retired last week.

I'd rather not, because it seemed like teams figured Kevin King out and he couldn't respond. He loses vs quickness, and because of trying to compensate for that, he loses big vs double moves. I guess for real cheap backup money he wouldn't be terrible depth, and there might be occasions he'd have a good matchup vs tall but not quick WRs.Drj820 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2021 17:19Im surprised there hasnt been any kevin King news. That said, it would be nice to be able to afford these fancy exotic toys, but when a guy with 2 career INTs, who has missed 18 games over last 2 seasons, and who got cut instead of kept on a 10M 5th year option, gets over twice the guarantees of Aaron Jones, whatchagonnado?
I respect that take but I still contend that there are MANY worse options that Kevin King, no matter how much he made us hate him sometimessalmar80 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2021 17:49I'd rather not, because it seemed like teams figured Kevin King out and he couldn't respond. You don’t bring back a player after he ruined the chances of a SB for the entire team.Drj820 wrote: ↑22 Mar 2021 17:19Im surprised there hasnt been any kevin King news. If he ends up getting 0 interest i wonder if the packers would want him back for say under 4m for 1 year or something.

The only reason I could think of is just to get the opportunity to cut him personally. I’d be OK with that.

With all of the digital film study available - everybody gets figured out..but I did note that the Packers fired the DC and kept the player.
Not sure if they were right on that assessment. But they have all of that film to review, "to figure out Kevin King" - and that's the conclusion they reached: keep the player, dump the coach. Time will tell if they bet on the right horse or not.
