https://www.packers.com/news/packers-si ... -fortunatoThe Green Bay Packers signed LS Joe Fortunato. The transaction was announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.
Fortunato (for-chuh-nah-doe), a 6-4, 240-pound, first-year player out of the University of Delaware, was originally signed by the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He also spent some time with the Dallas Cowboys during the 2020 offseason. The former walk-on for the Blue Hens became a four-year letterwinner (2012-15), playing in 46 contests. He served as the snapper on punts for four seasons and the snapper on placements for his final two years.

And I would add this seems to make fortunes not so fortunato for Hunter Bradley.

Great move by Gutenkunst to go out in FA and get a cheap option at LS.
Which also highlights how $%@# stupid it was to draft one even if it was just a 7th round pick.

This agenda and narrative in EVERY thread is becoming dull.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
because so many 7th rounders become Mark Taushers, right?lupedafiasco wrote: ↑24 Mar 2021 19:47Great move by Gutenkunst to go out in FA and get a cheap option at LS.

Well, just look at where not getting the best outside UFA long snappers has gotten us. Not into Super Bowls, that's for sure!! We've been wasting AR's prime with subpar long snapping for years. Gutey been nappin with the snappin! He needed to be aggressive and go all-in at the position!! I would've used the money wasted on a RB on the best UFA long snapper on the market. Now we just settle on a bargain JAG with sweaty hands and butt... If we hadn't drafted Gary or Love, we could've gotten instant long snapping starters who would've started day 1!!!
I very, very much disagree with your thoughts on specialists. Kickers, Punters, and Long Snappers are well worth draft picks. Even higher draft picks. But, you gotta get 'em right. Looks like a swing and a miss on Bradley and the prospects aren't much better with JK, either.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑24 Mar 2021 19:47Great move by Gutenkunst to go out in FA and get a cheap option at LS.
