This is a no brainer if they think Love has "it"....trade AR.

It is over.

Seems familiar :dunno:
And that's why it seems like the Packers probably wouldn't trade him for a high pick this year because they already have a QB that would have gone top 10-15 this year.
There are a couple WRs and a TE who could be a really nice addition for a newly anointed starting QB tho.

Well the statement worked so...

I fully support BG/MLF
Did it work? Or was it that a hall of fame caliber QB got more experience in a new scheme?

I’ve never believed the &%$@ narrative that Love was drafted with the lone intention to motivate Rodgers. He was drafted because the team get he was done despite giving Rodgers little help and not realizing he was in a new scheme.

Foolishness.
It worked. Some of yall are obtuse when it comes to motivation. He needed to pull his head out of his ass and change his practices, and the Love pick jolted him enough to do that.
so again it's your contention that Guty gave up a 4th round pick to move up and take a QB with almost NO chance of playing for 2 years just to get Rodgers to play better, versus drafting a player that could actually help him to do that?

never mind that the year prior was a bran new offense he and no one else on the team had ever played in, and everyone went through a learning curve.

you and so many other here are the obtuse ones Tex, you would rather blame Rodgers for the years 016 right till the end of Lafluers first season for Rodgers struggles, the receivers where beyond mediocre, we couldn't run the ball because McCarthy had every RB on a pitch count, how do u establish a ground game when ya yank the RB's when there doing well, and we lack the receiver to win isi vertical pass routes, sure Rodgers became polarized with extending plays hoping someone would get clear, so much so he didn't timely pitch it to his under neath receivers when he did have one open.
your way out in right field with your idea that Love was to spark Rodgers, no sane football person would ever agree to that opinion, if ya gotta do something like that then you should expect a ton of blow back

I suspect that’s the point we’ll all arrive at and a lot of this clamor will die off.

P.S. Of all the analogies you could have chosen.... :thwap:

I started a 3-hour exam that long ago, first thing I come back to is this. Holy frick.

If true, make him take a red-shirt year. He's not tradeable yet. Next year is more of an open question, though, and the trade offers will probably be way better anyway. He'll probably talk himself into playing eventually.

This also would not change my draft-day strategy either way -- mainly, defense. WR help early, too, but do not worry about pleasing Rodgers by it.

I think the dead cap # is $38,545,000 or so for 2021.

I mean you’d be taking on $38mil in dead cap. Just the cap savings is -$1mil.

right, plus, it is over, a roster almost complete with a young Love is probably a 8 and 8 season, Guty needs to do whatever it takes to reel Rodgers back in, the guy wants proof other then Rodgers is our guy this coming season from him, virtually do something that gurantees he plays here a couple more years.

Trading AR would create $38,356,000 in dead cap. Since AR's cap number if he plays here is $37,202,000, trading him would cause a little more than 1M additional cap hit vs keeping him. We currently have 2.6M in cap space (barely enough for the draft class).

This means we "could" trade him for picks, but the trade can not include ANYONE moving GB's way who has any sorta cap hit.

Since we already did so many cap-freeing moves earlier in the off-season, the only way left for us to create any significant amount of cap space would be to cut/trade/extend Davante Adams.

Rodgers knows it doesnt make sense to be traded this year. This will blow over. But it is for sure over after this year. He is just making sure everyone in the world knows that now, right before the draft.

Absolutely not.

The cap situation will be the exact same. We just won't have Aaron Rodgers.

Where our issue will be is we will want to get a vet who will want probably at least $5 to $10 million and we may have issues getting that.

We can make almost any deal work IF we trade Davante Adams first....

Trade 'em both, trade up for a guard in 1st round, $%@# everything, A-PACK-OLYPSE!!!!
