This isn't an out-there pick. Many thought he'd sneak into the 1st. He should be a good compliment to Jaire. Very fast and he's got the size.
RIP JustJeff
Here we go. DO NOT base the pick on media rankings. Most people wanted CB. Thought it was a 1st round need. The Packers liked Stokes at this point more than other CBs.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
Such a horrible take in this day and age, IMO.
There is no master sheet of where prospects are ranked.
Exactly what I forecasted and low and behold it comes from one I had in mind too.

I just never heard much about Stokes being a first rounder but

I like the pick. He has the size and speed. He finds the ball. He has good measureables, right?
If he coaches up well, he’s gonna be good. And this was a position of need.
But I am surprised that we didn’t pick Barmore or Koramoah.

Come on down and try some of our delicious green chili! Best in the world!

This will then lead the consistently cynical to claim how poorly we did drafting as they are basing their own rankings off of draftnik rankings. I could see us taking a player who the draftniks sees as only a late 2nd round guy and hear the screams of "REACH" and "FIRE!" It's going to be SOOO much fun...

100%
RIP JustJeff
I mean the dude is the most athletic player in Green Bay history.
Basically saying I thought Stokes would be a second rounder is not that Hot of a take or controversial. Its just an option.

His weakness is concerns on fluidity and needs to improve on his technical skills.
Overall I can't be upset with this pick. Give him a year to develop behind King. If we hit with Stokes....we will hit.

Just a couple people didnt expect the pick and thought he would go in the second.Pckfn23 wrote: ↑29 Apr 2021 22:53Pckfn23 wrote: ↑27 Apr 2021 10:07I have a feeling that due to the lack of access to personnel the draftniks are going to be WAY off on prospect "rankings," especially after round 1. +1
The Packers lunatic fringe is more visible because of sheer numbers. The Packers have one of the largest fan bases in all of sports. If the fringe percentage is the same as with other teams, then we end up with larger volumes of nut jobs. - JustJeff
Definitely in a spot where he can come in and earn some reps week 1, but we also don't have to throw him out there a ton either right away.
I mean, CB, other than C or G is probably our biggest need on paper, we hit it in round 1, guy with great size, amazing athelicism, good production from a big program, should be ready to contribute early.
Here's hoping Gute's 1st round CB's are like Ted's 2nd round WR's and 4th round OL.

Could have been Ahmad Carroll fellas.
RIP JustJeff
He doesn’t tackle well in the run game. Offensive Coordinaters will attack him with WR screens.
Speed demon though.
