Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2020 will be in brackets.
Here's how this works:
Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll.
Simply voting is not enough!
Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 10 guys, a new player is added to the list each day).
Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

The offense has a full set of starters now except RG, with RB#2 being the top flex (a starting position), WR#3 and TE#2 are still on the board.
The defense has a full set of nickel starters except ILB#2 or S#3 (when Za kicks inside). DT#2 and even DT#3 are missing from more base defenses.
Martin, Lowry, Lazard, Runyan and Love seem like the best players available to me.
I think this vote is probably going to go Lazard.

Have we ever had such a long streak with no winner receiving at least 50% of the vote. What a massive jumbled talent tier this is.

I went Amari Rodgers. He’s the only true slot on the roster. He’s the only guy who can fill in the jet sweep type of play outside of maybe Aaron Jones. He’s in line to be the top returner on punts and kicks.
I think he has more value here than the other receivers available. EQ, Lazard, and Funchess can all more or less be the same guy with each being a little better in some categories but none of them bring what Rodgers does.

I agree. But I think I'm going Lazard immediately after Amari.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 11:02I went Amari Rodgers. He’s the only true slot on the roster. every receiver we have shared time in the slot, they wont need to now, I expect our offense to be more explosive then last seasons #1 unit, possibly a lot more explosive in the respect of moving the chains and extending drives, red zone.
Amari today.
Amari today.
I went Lazard with the full assumption that Aaron Rodgers will be the QB and he'll bring his fabled "trust" factor back with him. Lazard has it, Amari doesn't. And with limited to zero camp time for Rodgers and Rodgers to become acclimated, I don't see Amari getting a ton of balls his way outside of ST.

I'm going with Allen Lazard again

Either everyone thinks Rodgers is coming back, or they think Love sucks. Lazard? Yikes.

I am going with Jordan Love again. The only QB (taken or on the board) who is likely to be on the roster opening day.
But even if by some small chance, the Packers and Rodgers mend fences, the backup QB is still far more valuable than any WR not named Adams, any RB not named Jones, any OLB not named Z or Gary, any OLineman not named Bak, Jenkins or Myers and any DB not named Jaire, Amos or Savage and any Dlineman not named Kenny. Aside from these there are plenty of backups and rotational players and specialty players that if 1 gets hurt the next man up is not a big drop off. Forgot Big Bob

This years WR2, Amari Rodgers. The playmaker.

I'll put Rodgers ahead of Lazard here. Were it strictly about offensive production, I think that has a pretty good lean to Lazard. Though Rodgers will get his plays, his role is certainly used a lot in MLF's offense.
But when it comes to ST, you have our likely #1 PR in Rodgers vs. nondescript Lazard, a huge difference.

we only had Ervin for 8 games, 11 catches on 15 targets, 84 yac yards, 7.6 average, 6 tds 24 carry's for 151 yrds 6.3 ypc, 1 TD, so 35 touches 235 yrds 7 tds, couldn't find how many touches produced a 1st down, point is this was Ervin a UDFA, and only 8 games, just imagine what the #'s could be from a more explosive player like Amari Rodgers.
2016 had a 10 game streak of under 50% around this area, which we will likely hit with this poll.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑10 Jun 2021 11:00Have we ever had such a long streak with no winner receiving at least 50% of the vote. What a massive jumbled talent tier this is.
Doesn't seem like there are any real conclusions to draw from it though. There seems to be less agreement on the order this year than previous years. Does it seem like there are an atypically high number of battles this year?
Our rookies are going atypically high. Though I'm not sure we've had as strongly a penciled in starter as Myers is since... Burnett in 2010? And he was a 3rd round pick not a 2nd. AJ Hawk is the only name I can think of going back to the start of the Ted era that was both a higher pick than Myers and more of a day 1 lock to start.
(Edit - Savage in 2019 was pretty much as much of a starting lock. He went #16, 3 slots higher than Myers. Usually the first rookie off the board is in the early-mid 20's).

I think it is interesting (and understandable) how much the NFCCG is playing into our minds as we form this list. MVS was a bum most of the year, yet had a good final game and gets selected pretty early. Lazard was a bum in the NFCCG and now I want Amari Rodgers to go before him.
Aaron Jones and Zadarius were bums in the NFCCG and get docked 4 positions as their punishment.

Maybe we should consider getting multiple votes at this point.
I've been stuck on Dean Lowry for a while, but there are definitely some other guys I think are right there I'd like to give support to.

Hmm, that's not a bad idea. I wouldnt be opposed to trying out 2-3 picks.
