What are you listening to..?

Cheesy topics (like the Cheese Curds thread) go here. Topics that aren't Packer related will be moved here as well.

Mmmm.... cheese.

So are there any useful tips to getting better? Obviously, practice practice practice - but anything else?
Practice, Practice Practice. Learn your chords. Trust me on that.

Once you get some chords down you can transfer them to songs. Smoke on the Water, Time of your Life, Tribute, My Girl, some other things you can try.

I know nothing about guitar playing. Except that when you do learn it, have fun with the music like this:

Just had my 9 year old listen to "Yellow Ledbetter."

Told him I'd give him $10 if he could tell me the lyrics.

I still have my $10.

salmar80 Your countrymen still putting out excellent melodic metal. Niilo still one of my favorite lead singers in the genre. And as usual, a great cinematic music video with the band jamming. Hoping I get to see them in concert again.

Biffy Clyro is the greatest band out there that you're currently not listening to.

Here you go! They're huge in the UK/Europe. Mind boggling that they're not huge in the US

Not my jam, but it does sound like something that could be big in the US.

I know I’ve heard Biffy Clyro before but I’ll be damned if I remember the song. None of those linked sound familiar but I also think they sound decent. Will have to check out more from them.

Nice! Yeah it’s hard to present a couple songs because their albums are stacked. Really deep catalog. The albums “Opposites” or “Only Revolutions are really good starting points. Their newest album “A Celebration Of Endings” is phenomenal too.

That's some good stuff, Acrobat. I've heard their singles, didn't realize how solid the albums were. Thanks! :guitar: :rimshot: :guitar: :dude: :jam:

You know when Spotify serves you only middling metal for weeks and then decides to crap all the good stuff out...

OK, ladies... Hold on! :jam:

A melody for ages and a song to match with the weirdest song structure and also with a KEYTAR!

When did we lose that rage?

English translation for "Che Guevara" below:

The floor of the gym hall
Was sticky and full of
Dance and strange boundaries

From your daddy's cupboard
You'd stolen a bottle
Of mint liquor and some coins

And when we kissed I believed in
Victory or death

Tell your husband to dress up as Che Guevara
When you fall on the bed, now
For a moment would it bring that danger
That twisted our stomachs back then
When we painted our eyes black
At the smoking corner we rebelled
Raged against that machine

To your three-room apartment
They bring salt and some bread (A Finnish tradition for guests to bring salt and bread to a young pair moving together, wishing for a lasting union.)
I’m sulking in the corner
Waiting to get drunk

Your hubby's bringing you
A glass of wine and some water
It is all so sweet that
It makes me sick

And when you kiss
I want to be somewhere else or someone else

Tell your husband to dress up as Che Guevara
When you fall on the bed, now
For a moment would it bring that danger
That twisted our stomachs back then
When we painted our eyes black
At the smoking corner we rebelled
Raged against that machine

I have it on good source that selling your soul produces immediate results. Worked for Robert Johnson.
Didn’t work too well for Bart Simpson.
Worked for Homer.

Don’t ask me how I ever found them, but I love Katzenjammer. Could either find a concert on YouTube or let some of their cds play through back when I was studying for actuary exams like a decade ago. Found it great studying music to jam to. :P

I was literally tearing down a wall with a small jackhammer, listening to my weekly random Spotify stuff with earbuds under some industrial-grade ear protectors, and still they hit through... Katzenjammer beat the jackhammer. :hail:

There may be a Finland vs Sweden competition going on in the category of "who sounds most like early 2000st bands most of us would love to forget about"...

Finland's latest entry is very bad, but catchy.

Been listening to a ton of Jimmy Buffett lately. Definitely a bucket list concert I have to get to.
