Theres just no way Deguara doesnt play a significant role if he stays healthy. Its crazy the versatility this guy has to play all over the formation and got no love from the board. John Kuhn was a limited FB who wasnt even that great of a blocker and would have went in the low 20s for sure and I think Deguara is way better all around than Kuhn ever was.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑08 Jul 2021 12:05Just a reminder that while Deguara plays H and FB, he's a TE also, so all this "starting FB" stuff is just a portion of his potential role, and AJ Dillon and Jones were on the field together some already, and Jamaal Williams is gone who ate into most of that. I dunno. I don't see how a second-year player who the coach absolutely loved and who played 31% of snaps in his first game would see his potential diminish without adding anyone at his position.

This reminds me of how people were certain that EQ, a 2nd-year player who had missed a lot of time, would pick up from the flash plays where he left off without missing a beat and be WR3 or even 2 last season.
I don't expect Deguara to disappoint *that* badly but let's rein in the expectations a bit for a guy who, again, is just a Year 2 player coming off a pretty big injury. I'm sure he'll have a role, but there are lots of other guys in the mix at his spots (any one of Tonyan, Lewis, Dafney, even Lazard and Funchess).
Also, yes, he's a TE in addition to FB/H, but Tonyan has emerged as 'the guy' there as a receiver since last year, and Lewis is probably still the better option there as a blocker.

Pretty much where I am, too. I do have hope that there are some fun things you could do with Deguara AND Dafney in addition to using them in base sets with the aforementioned TE's.Labrev wrote: ↑08 Jul 2021 20:04This reminds me of how people were certain that EQ, a 2nd-year player who had missed a lot of time, would pick up from the flash plays where he left off without missing a beat and be WR3 or even 2 last season.
