Percent of vote the winner got will be in parenthesis, position change vs. 2020 will be in brackets.

Here's how this works:

Each day there is a new thread/poll, starting at #1, on down to whereever we get. The whole point of this exercise is to have something to talk about in the lean news months to carry us to camp. Each poll will be open for voting for 24 hours. New threads will only be created on weekdays. Ties will cause a runoff poll.

Simply voting is not enough!

Post why you voted for who you did and provide a player to add to the next poll (every poll will be a list of 10 guys, a new player is added to the list each day).

Here's the thing. There is no criteria. This is an exercise to foster discussion therefore there are no clear criteria for ranking. Who is better right now? Who will have the best season? Who was better last year? Sort of a combo of them all? Do you take positional value into account? It really doesn't matter.

Newman and Hill for me. RB#3 needs to go soon IMHO. Newman by far has the most upside here.

Sorry NCF, have to revote, I realized when picking Hill that Dexter was missing.

Newman and Jace for me.

Come September after the suspension the Packers #2 TE will be Jace and as someone else said, Funchess will be selling used cars

Newman only. I was voting for him as high as the earlyish 20s.

Calling it now: that's our starting RG, barring injury or something similarly unforeseen. He's going to outplay this spot big time.

I did the same exact thing.

Royce I believe ends up as the 6th man on the OL with swing tackle and guard potential.

Hill will definitely beat out Dexter as RB3. As long as he doesn’t Davante Mays this thing he’s got a guaranteed role. To expect RBs is a pretty balanced offense to make it the entire year is ambitious. Hill is going to get a chance at some point this year to show what he has and that is worth a nod at this point.

I really don’t get the Dafney hype. I mean he looked decent but he’s in an incredibly crowded position group with some uncuttable players. I think he lasts until Sternbummy comes off suspension.
Cancelled by the forum elites.

I still think Patrick is more valuable on the bench than starting: Newman starting RG, Patrick swing IOL, and Braden swing T -- no need to reshuffle the 'line much if a guy goes down. :aok:

'Only thing that makes me hesitate is two rookie OL starting next to each other, but iirc Andy Herman said (in his "deep dive" on him) that Newman is quite assignment-sure, does not get fooled easily.

I'm going Ty Summers and Shamar Jean-Charles

I'm looking at "barriers to playing time" and Summers is currently practicing primarily with the 1s, with D. Campbell and K. Martin being his barriers to playing time. That's a fairly low bar to ascend, and he has more than enough athletic ability and mental processing power to be on the field, plus is still a young developing player who could be likely to see improvements.

SJC is potentially the top nickel guy behind Sullivan, which means an injury or continued unimpressive play could pretty easily open the door for competition there. Granted, I think we'll see Jaire in the nickel with King and Stokes on the outside plenty (just like Ramsey played inside a bit in LA)... but even so, I think the instincts of SJC and the film study will get him on the field sooner rather than later.

In 2020, despite ALL the moving parts on the OL, only 6 OL played at least 20% of the snaps. If you're not OL 6, you're in for a lot of bench time. I don't see a lot to understand why Newman would be OL6 or OT3. He could, but I'm not voting it so just yet.
