I put more stock in Madden ratings than I do pro-bowl honors.

We’ll start at the top – Davante Adams. The wide receiver is just one of five players to receive the maximum 99 overall rating. The other four are Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce and quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald and cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Adams has a 99 catch rating as well – only Arizona’s DeAndre Hopkins can match that.
Green Bay has two other players rated 96 or higher. Only one other team has three players at 96+ -- the Chiefs, who also have wide receiver Tyreek Hill with a 98. Cleveland with defensive end Myles Garrett (98) and halfback Nick Chubb (96) are the only other franchise with more than one player rated 96 or better.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, coming off an MVP season, is rated a 96, which is third highest behind Mahomes and Tampa Bay’s Tom Brady (97). Rodgers is trending in the right direction. When we listed these ratings two years ago, Rodgers was seventh among QBs with an overall rating of 90.
Also at 96 is left tackle David Bakhtiari. Despite coming off a torn ACL suffered on Dec. 31, Bakhtiari is the highest-rated left tackle in the Madden 22. Only four other left tackles even rate at 90 or above.
Jaire Alexander has an overall rating of 95, which is third best among cornerbacks behind Ramsey and New England’s Stephon Gilmore (97).
Aaron Jones is the lone other Packer who has a rating of 90+ at 91, which is seventh highest among halfbacks. He’s one of four at the position, though, who have a 90+ rating in each of the speed, acceleration, agility and awareness categories.
OTHER OBSERVATIONS
-- Kenny Clark is “only” an 89, but that puts him fifth among defensive tackles. Likewise, Adrian Amos received an 89 but that’s also good for fifth among strong safeties.
-- Guard seems to be a position in which good grades aren’t handed about as only two on the left side received grades of 90+ (Indianapolis’ Quentin Nelson, 96, and Tampa Bay’s Ali Marpet, 90). Green Bay’s Elgton Jenkins received an 86 (which is still the fifth highest at the position). We have a feeling that grade will be higher in Madden 23.
-- Speaking of underappreciated, we present to you tight end Robert Tonyan, who received an overall rating of 80. Among the tight ends who received a better grade than Tonyan, who caught 52 passes for 586 yards with 11 touchdowns in 2020, are Noah Fant, O.J. Howard, Kyle Pitts and Kyle Rudolph. Kyle Rudolph! What year is this again?
-- Who will be the Packers’ No. 2 wide receiver? Madden 22 rates Devin Funchess a 78, Marquez Valdes-Scantling a 76 and Allen Lazard a 74. Randall Cobb, listed with Houston in this iteration, is a 77.
-- Kickers don’t get much respect in overall ratings in Madden, but Mason Crosby’s 78 still puts him in the middle of the pack.
-- Halfback A.J. Dillon received a 76 overall rating. There’s no rating for legs, in which he’d surely break the scale.
-- Rookie cornerback Eric Stokes received a 71, which is lower than Kevin King (73) and Josh Jackson (72). Madden 22 making him earn it.
