We are going to regret not having a contract extension in place for MVS before the season.

I really thought that after the Adams contract broke down, they might go with extensions for Tonyan and MVS, but Gutey says it's still priority one to keep Adams. I think that's the choice, honestly. And while I would like to keep Adams, I would HATE to lose Adams and then also not have MVS or Tonyan locked in, also. A bit of a gamble with the offensive weapons contracts right now. Tricky times.

Andy Herman mentioned that he expects to watch the Packers D today, as well.

I want to see MVS routinely catch the ball in regular season games before any extension. I'd also like to see him and Rodgers on the same page reference back shoulder throws and route options, which has rarely been the case during his tenure with GB. If he can do these things he's a legit #1 WR option, but if he remains a one trick pony it significantly reduces his market value.

Agreed, he is usually more frustrating than helpful, but when he does track the ball correctly and catch the GO route, it is a sweet quick strike option to have on the roster. But if he doesnt run other routes well, doesnt track the ball well, and has suspect hands...what is the worth of a WR who can go deep and about half the time he is wide open he catches the ball for a TD?

Hard to say.

I am glad we are waiting to see what he brings us this season in actual games.

Maybe. You cant reward MVS for his lack of consistency. I expect him to have a really good year. It may all finally be clicking for him. He dominated the NFCC but we need that consistently. He still hasnt had a season worth giving him an extension.

Adams is a guy you can go to wherever you want on the field in any situation. MVS hasnt shown the ability to separate early in the route. Hes just been a guy who can stretch the field or run those crossers when a pick comes through and hes wide open and going to get yards based on his speed. He doesnt run the best of routes and in the open field he isnt the most elusive.

Lawson carted off with a leg injury.

I bet that puts a damper on today's practice.

Without KC in the middle, this defense can't really stop the run.

Jets have had two players carted off (Lawson and also now a DB named Zane Lewis) and also have seen Mims and Rankins go down and head into the locker room. Rough day for them.

I tuned in mid-sentence and will come back later with a quote, but it sounded like Adams was praising Stokes with some physical comparisons to Shields and comparing his mental/emotional approach to Jaire early on

I literally just came back to the page to update the quote with this exactly.

But also the part where Adams says he approached him after practice and said "keep coming at me; keep getting me better" and Adams said it gave him the sense that there was a confidence that he can play, he just hasn't gotten on that level with you guys yet.
