I am hopeful some of those bottom roster WR no-names who have populated the injury list are finally active for this game and we see very little of Funchess. DF has made his case that he belongs. Let the others make theirs.

Pick again quickly.
Pick again quickly.
Benkert was impressive, had to over come some blocking miscues and threw into some tight coverage, he gets my vote.
Hill. Really liked what I saw and think he cemented his place on the 53.

Zach Wilson played well....
My short list would be
Slayton
Dillon
Benkert
No one deserves it.
The RB fumbled.
Hard to give it to a WR.

Benkert 100%, he was way more impressive over an entire half than i expected. He looked like a legit QB2 to me.

I am going Benkert probably.
TJ Slayton would be my 2nd choice.
Malik Taylor would have been #1 had he been selected.

1) Benkert
2) Hill
3) Slayton
Malik Taylor, and possibly Uphoff and Begelton would've been considerations if they had been picked.

Benkert, hands down.

Taylor runs high profile, upright, just like Starks years back, so the ball is exposed more, but that kid has some talent, that fumble though seemed to deflate the offense, Dillon for his size imo runs with a lower center of gravity, Hill runs like Jones, low and with deceptive speed and burst, this group of RB's is the best we've had in years, get this OL gelled up and our short game should keep the chains moving.Ghost_Lombardi wrote: ↑22 Aug 2021 07:58Zach Wilson played well....

Slaton, and Heflin are playing really well against 2nd tier OL, hope they can keep it up against the starters, if they do our DL just got a lot better.
we didn't do to well in the scoring department, but we had some very good individual production from some of our rookies.
Slaton
Love big man sacks... I doubt he plays a ton, but if he can have spot impact snaps, great!

Benkert showed he can play this game. He is fun to watch.
Slaton had the sack which was nice to see, but not enough to give him the nod.
Hill performed well again. Liking this kid as the RB3.
Not much for consideration from this game.

Wisconsin Cheese Is Better Than California Cheese!
I think he plays more than one would expect. I wouldn't be suprirsed in the slightest that he is ahead of Lancaster in the lineup.
As an aggregate, I would say the top 5 players of preseason so far have been:
1. TJ Slayton
2. Kylin Hill
3. Jack Heflin
4. Royce Newman
5. Malik Taylor
And as an honorary mention, I want to give a shout out to Yosh Nijman. Outside of one play, he has played really well at LT. It may be interesting to see the decision between Nijman and Kelly honestly. Looking forward to watching the tackles this Saturday.

Hard to know, or at least I just do not know, exactly what a typical DL formation will be for the new DC...but I could see Clark and Slayton both on the line side by side going a long way to helping us stop the run. I bet Slaton plays a good amount, not like there is a abundance of talent in front of him besides Clark.

Yeah, I have been HOPING all offseason that we use a lot more 3 DL packages than we have in the past. The Rams ran a decent amount of something called Eagle Front, which was their 3-DL nickel package. We ran nickel and dime so often last year AND we ran it with mostly removing DL in exchange for the DBs rather than subbing out LBs for DBs.Drj820 wrote: ↑23 Aug 2021 09:45Hard to know, or at least I just do not know, exactly what a typical DL formation will be for the new DC...but I could see Clark and Slayton both on the line side by side going a long way to helping us stop the run. I understand the thought of it--that it keeps more speed having LBs instead of DL, but obviously, we didn't just run it in passing situations and got gashed against the run. More 3-DL packages could allow us to have like a Kenny Clark NT with 2 penetrating interior DL like Keke or Helfin or Z and Gary when they move inside.
But then it ALSO allows us, as you mentioned, to do 3-4 looks with Slaton at Nose and Clark at DE (which he has played for us) putting more of a jumbo package in there while still utilizing Clark's quickness at his size to be more of a disrupter than a block eater. Slaton unlocks that potential, even if it's just a small rotational role at NT that upgrades from Lancaster.
Gunna go Benkert, hate the thought of QB's getting it two weeks in a row, but I thought he played well. Especially given that the Jets were playing a lot more starters than we were.
He is pretty fearless, not afraid to sling it. So he gets my vote.

I thought Slaton flashed several times. Going with the big guy.
