Expectations for the 2021 season
Expectations are funny things. Set them unreasonably high, and you may be unable to enjoy the journey of an overall successful season. Set them too low, and you'll appear a fool when you celebrate every silly little thing when the point of it all is winning... Get it right and you win nothing, but get to feel like you have a grip on reality.
After a wild off-season and all the drama, what do y'all expect?
What would you call a successful 2021 season?
Apart from the poll, do break it down.

I feel good about the team. They seemed destined for greatness. I voted Super Bowl berth and then see what happens. Yeah, if that actually happens I will surely expect them to win, but I feel like Goal #1 has to be just taking the next logical step. After two straight NFCCG losses, it. is. time. to break through that wall.

I'm usually a "just get to the playoffs, they are a cruel mistress" -kinda guy.
This year...
A Super Bowl has to be won or I'll feel disappointed.
It's an all-in season, even if it meant mostly keeping our own.

Super Bowl, just make it and let the chips fall where they may.
I very much believe they can win it all this year, but lady luck isn't always nice.

Expectations vs hopes
I hope they win the SB
All I expect is that they make the playoffs - even if AR gets hurt or there are a rash of key injuries

I expect a deep playoff run, but expecting a Super Bowl appearance is just a bridge too far for me. Way too many things have to work out to get to the dance - exhibits A and B being 2020 and 2014 respectively.

Sorry for the Finnish, but I just expect an American Football equivalent of this:
Last year was our chance and we ruined it. I doubt the stars align so well again. I do expect a playoff win though.

I expect nothing - I'm a Zen Buddhist monk. A Super Bowl is most useful when it's empty
I tried so hard not to click this, it's like a super natural power just took over, I think it's a good oman

The goal is to win at anything any chance you get.

I expect some of you will be disappointed when the Packers don't win the division.

Of course we will be disappointed. But no one should be surprised.
Lets start with the roster:
AR is a year older and at the age when most players hit the wall. He was MVP last year. Expecting him to be as good this year is unrealistic.
Jones was mostly healthy last year. Expecting him to be as healthy this year is unrealistic.
MVS suddenly started catching easy passes in the season last year, expecting him to not revert to his norm, dropping passes or poorly tracking a long pass and not even touching it is unrealistic. At the end of the season, MVS was WR#2, a starter.
Meyers is a rookie. Expecting him to be as good as Linsley or even close is unrealistic.
Bak is on PUP. Expecting Jenkins to be anywhere near as good is unrealistic.
Expecting the replacement LG to be as good as Jenkins is unrealistic.
Turner at RT has had 1 season of being competent in his entire career. Expecting this to continue is unrealistic.
Lewis is an old man at TE. Expecting him to be as good as last year is unrealistic.
On O alone, of the 11 starters, 7 are likely to be not as good as last season's starter at that position.
For the remaining 4 starters:
Newman at RG is likely to be an improvement
Adams at WR#1 is likely to be the same
Tonyan at TE#1 is likely to improve
That leaves 1 position which could be slot receiver, 2nd TE or FB - I expect an improvement there - if Deguara gets those snaps. Rodgers will be good in the slot but only if he gets onto the field (Cobb has lost his speed but it may be midseason before the team realizes that smarts and communication with AR is no substitute for speed and quickness).
On D, name a few players you expect to play the best season of their career. Maybe Alexander. Maybe King. Probably Gary vs Preston last season. Clark was already at his peak last year, same with Z and Amos. ILB and slot corner are train wrecks (were train wrecks last season too, to be fair). Aside from Clark and the UDFA rookie, the Dline is a train wreck. So 3 players with probable improvement, Alexander, King and Gary and that is only because King had a bad year last season. The other 8 are going to be about the same at their positions. Well, maybe Savage improves a little - if they don't put him in as ILB with the result that he spends the second half of the season on IR.
No one should be surprised if the Packers are a wild card team.
Who comes out the winner?? Hmm....
Us reads viewers a fur. Thats guys a weeks shared reds.

Ahhh, that's right. Once he's back from IR that is.

I'll be disappointed if we don't win the Super Bowl. Never thought after SB45 that Rodgers would have a less-accomplished career than Favre. We're not the favorite, but we are in a small tier of contenders.
Anything less than getting to the big dance is a failure this season.
