Appreciate the optìmism..... Oh, I still think the Packers will win this game.

Dafney not just out, hes been put on IR. Maybe we should sign a guy off Seattles PS named turdberger or whatever for a few games while he is out.

When the 9ers have been good they have built some fantastic defenses. Weird what happens to a defense when a dominant LB is put in the middle of it.

Yeah I was thinking about that too. Something strange how just about every great defense in the league is anchored by an elite inside linebacker. Weird coincidence I’m sure.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021 21:18When the 9ers have been good they have built some fantastic defenses. Or at least a guy like AJ Hawk who is sorely missed.Drj820 wrote: ↑25 Sep 2021 21:51Yeah I was thinking about that too. I knew this and have talked about this a little bit on this forum, but to say it out loud is a little bit mind blowing.
The Packers have not had to face hostile crowd noise since playing the 49ers in the 2019 NFCCG. Even a bigger test with a patch work OL.

see this is the difference between our age gap, back in the 70's and 80's we oldies through all that losing still expected to win, week in week out we sincerely felt the next game was ours, we'd beat the crap out of whomever we had to play, we where delusional

3rd string LT going to be too much unless the defense figured it out.
Palmy - "Very few have the ability to truly excel regardless of system. For many the system is the difference between being just a guy or an NFL starter. Fact is, everyone is talented at this level."
That is delusional. Glad you are honest with yourself now though in hindsight!
In your defense tho you didnt have PFF and other outlets to help you evaluate your team fairly. I’m
Sure the beat writers and team propaganda supplied hope through out the week.

It seems to be a nasty habbit in these big NFC primetime showdowns that our LT is always out.

For me, i dont really believe that the Saints game “was just the Saints game”. I think it showed we haven’t learned much from past mistakes. A tough 3 yard and a cloud of dust approach was needed to keep the D off the field, and we refused to do it. That gave me flashbacks of dark times and dark games. Then, the offense looked good against the lions, while the d still looked broken all first half. It only got better when the rain showed up. So I expect to a broken defense tonight and a team with a broken down young OL.
My standard for the team tonight is not even victory tho. If they stick to the run when it doesn’t look easy, show fight for 4 quarters, the defense comes to play and keeps us in the game..then even in defeat i will be able to start to see the Saints game as just the Saints game. At this point tho, im unconvinced.

our situation against NO is actually quite common, happens every year to very good teams, if ya don't practice in game situations with your starters then what ever game plan a coach prepares has almost no history of success, remember now as many coaches will say " every year is a new team" which translates to even old vets dont play exactly the same year after year, last year no teams practiced there starters, we where great because Rodgers worked harder then he had in years and he was real hot right from day one.
also if the original game plan didn't work, adjustments where bound to fail as well, both Lafluer and Rodgers took blame for poor game preparation, same with Barry, I think Detroit showed that both D and O where getting back on track, I expect we'll give a great effort tonight, win or lose we'll be in this game to the end.

This dates back forever. I remember the big showdown in Dallas in 2007 (the Aaron Rodgers game) having to start without KGB and Charles Woodson. The 2015 playoffs without Davante. It has been a big problem for us.

Sounds like Nijman is getting the start at LT.
RIP JustJeff
I am glad they are going this route. This is what I was hoping for.
At the least we will finally know what we have in him. Thought he had a good preseason minus one bad play.
I agree, why weaken two positions, Turner is a better RT, lets see what Nijman can do, add some help if needed, the key to this game is run well and Aaron will have to throw on schedule.
