Even if you take out Week 1, still not good.

Right now the Packers defense ranks 9th in the NFL in terms of yards allowed.
Feel good stat, we have some work to do.

Would be interesting to see what it is for the last 3 halves (halfs?) compared to the first 3 halves.

I mean I think we can agree with "some work to do."

But if we can get our 3rd and long/medium defense performing at close to league average, a lot of the rest will fall into place. The standard run game is not gashing us. We force third downs. Just get off the field.

Or get into it yourself (can take just a little time to get familiar with everything, but once you get a little comfortable, near endless modification and creativity).

Trying to figure out why the rush EPA for the Packers is 27th for week 3...

Guessing 1 TD and only 5 first downs on 25 attempts isn't very good (24% impact runs). Running on 3rd down and NOT getting a first down or TD would be a big negative EPA. Don't have numbers for that.

Just for comparison, the 9ers had 6 1st downs and 2 TDs (8 big EPA plays) on 21 attempts (38% impact runs).

Can I say...

I am SO glad the Packers have already had: the Fox #1 broadcast crew, the MNF broadcast crew, and the SNF broadcast crew.

Everyone has now had their opportunity to rehash the offseason narratives and say their piece on it, because you know everyone who has a platform was going to want to chime in.

I'm not saying it's dead and buried (Steven Awful Smith), but it's nice to have gotten through the bulk of it and hopefully get more in-season narratives and commentary in future broadcasts.

I'm just so glad we only have one more night game until December 12 vs Chicago. I hate night games.

I really hate Monday Night games, glad we don't have anymore of those. Only way to watch 'em is buy ESPN (not ESPN+) or find a stream. Stupid. ESPN is no longer a basic tier channel most places either. On DirecTV we have Sunday ticket, NFLN and RZ, but no ESPN.

Interesting little tidbit. Rodgers has not played the Steelers since the Super Bowl.

I've been tracking the week-by-week playoff odds according to Football Outsiders and I'm happy to report that the past two weeks have returned to just about preseason levels for making the playoffs (though significantly lower odds of a 1- or 2-seed, and higher of a 3- or 4-seed)

Pretty surprised our playoff odds went down a little given the even worse than expected performances from the rest of our division. Division odds up but WC chances down, overall chances down.

Yeah, I think the main thing was that we were expected to be a very good team and as soon as we added any real data, 100% of that data was very very bad. So if you look at our expected DVOA, it cut in half from preseason to week one. That reduced the number of wins they thought we'd get throughout the rest of the year (probably by slightly more than half a win).

But further, it means that in the 10,000 simulations they run based on DVOA, the Packers beat the Saints most times. So once they lost, it locked in the scenarios in which they'd lost week one and lowered the expected win total by about a full win.

I was a big fan of Isaiah Johnson in 2019. Wanted to double up with him and Gardner-Johnson.
