Yep...

Bruh.
This opens the door for Lazard to prove me wrong. Also we probably start getting huge doses of Cobb I would think. We need Bak and Jenkins back desperately. Getting those two back and I think our ground game can really get going.

No worries, This why we brought Cobb back and paid him 5 million right?

With a hamstring? I can't imagine he won't be back in a few weeks. Long-term absence would be a big loss for sure.

Will be nice to see just how important he is to our Offense before we owe him money if he is gonna stay

Unless he’s giving a massive discount I would not sign MVS to anything more than a 1 year deal. He needs to prove he’s got consistency in him before we offer any of that. Gotta learn from mistakes like Nick Perry. No long term deals for players with short term impact.

Can we sign Funchess again or since we used some IR trick with him, is he unable to sign with us?

Actually didnt think of that. He was released with an injury settlement so there shouldnt be any reason we cant sign him. Hes been here basically 2 years. He should know the play book and at least have some type of chemistry.
I would expect the Packers just roll with what they have though. Still have Adams, Lazard, Cobb, Rodgers, and Taylor. Thats not an awful 5 to move forward with considering the passing game goes through Adams, Jones, and Tonyan as it is. Its a hamstring pull. IR only takes 3 weeks now. I would bet they just hold him out 3 weeks just to get him right. CMC pulled his hammy and is about to miss his 2nd week and apparently isnt close.

Maybe Taylor will "arrive". Sure hope so. He made the 53........and should be able to contribute. Trivia ?: Taylor's jersey number is what?
Yeah, I don't think they'll actually sign him, because for whatever reason they clearly don't think he is very good and they are extremely wrong. I'm sure we'll be fine.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑01 Oct 2021 20:04Actually didnt think of that. He was released with an injury settlement so there shouldnt be any reason we cant sign him. The NFL Rule is is you cannot sign a player until a minimum of 6 weeks after the injury settlement.
I think we releaesed Funchess on 8/27. So at the earliest we can sign him next Friday.

There you go. I stand corrected.

Funchess wouldn't fill the role MVS plays, tho. Too slow to force a safety to stay deep.
EQ is still on our practice squad. He's an option to run those deep routes. Big and rather speedy tho still slower than MVS.

Rest of league must not think funchess is very good eithertexas wrote: ↑01 Oct 2021 21:47Yeah, I don't think they'll actually sign him, because for whatever reason they clearly don't think he is very good and they are extremely wrong. Didn't Funchess look fairly decent in those preseason games?Drj820 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2021 06:46Rest of league must not think funchess is very good eithertexas wrote: ↑01 Oct 2021 21:47Yeah, I don't think they'll actually sign him, because for whatever reason they clearly don't think he is very good and they are extremely wrong. You can call a Psquad up to the 53 twice per sesason. We already did EQ once so calling him again would be our last time.
My guess is we bring Q to the active 53 today with the MVS IR designation.

Yeah, if so, they're all wrong. You see it all the time- certain players not getting a look, and then whenever they finally get a chance due to injury or whatever, they become stars.Drj820 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2021 06:46Rest of league must not think funchess is very good eithertexas wrote: ↑01 Oct 2021 21:47Yeah, I don't think they'll actually sign him, because for whatever reason they clearly don't think he is very good and they are extremely wrong. Funchess has never had a QB who can throw.
