Wouldn't he still have to clear waivers?
Transactions aren't final until 4:00, so not sure this finalizes anything. I think he will be released if no trade is reached by 4:00, today.
Read More. Post Less.
Gilmore has already won a SuperBowl, too. 'Not saying he does not badly want to do so again, but that won't be as persuasive of a reason for him to accept less this time.

Yeah but if it's for a 3/4 of a year deal to get him to the 2022 cap when we know the cap is going up again...you want to display your skills. And being no a top team is a good way to do that.
Who knows what the motivations are ? Gilmore has already earned $80M, so not sure if biggest payday is driving this either.
But he's 31 and not sure how many teams are going to give him the long term cash he is seeking in 2022 and beyond.
BB already said no thanks
IT. IS. TIME
To your point, I honestly don't think Gilmore wanted any part of a NE rebuild. He wants to play winning football. GB offers that, among several other teams.
Not sure the Bucs cap space but they actually desperately need him.
Rams are the type of team that would work magic to get him.
He would make us alot better, but we are not the type of team that usually conducts magic to get players in situations like this.
My guess is he would really have to want to come here, and probably just for one year...as he knows we could be looking at a rebuild situation in less than a year.

I Do Not Hate Matt Lafleur
I'd think Gilmore would be excited to play in the same secondary as Alexander, Stokes, Savage, and Amos, plus the emerging Campbell, this would be one of the best secondary's in the league over the next few seasons.

Hes going to go to the Buccs. This is just what theyve done since last year. They have a great team but they arent satisfied with great.
Could see him going to the 49ers too. Their CBs are garbage but they arent winning right now either.

We have heard this before. Packers are always the favorites for some FA or trade destination. Never happens.

Move along, nothing to see here. He's going to the Panthers for a 2023 6th.

I usually never hear the agent actually say the Packers are the favorite to land "such and such"lupedafiasco wrote: ↑06 Oct 2021 12:00We have heard this before. Packers are always the favorites for some FA or trade destination. Never happens.
Usually what we hear is the "out of the possible teams interested, the Packers are one of them" and we take that information and run with it as fans.
