Not sure what happened, but I meant we beat the 9ers and we got beat by the SaintsYoHoChecko wrote: ↑07 Oct 2021 15:23To be fair, the 49ers lost their QB in that game, and the replacement played like garbage until garbage time. I think it's pretty early yet to try and compare strength of wins and losses. We honestly don't know who is separating themselves from the cream yet outside of going off last year records. (Like I think Seattle is going to surprise people on how bad their record is at the of the year)
All I know is this is an ascending team that is starting to believe in itself and if we want to be the team we expect to be we should still be able to win this thing as long as the defense can hold em under 27.
My goal is to hold the Bengals in that 20 - 24 range and Green Bay to put up 30+. Honestly I expect the Packers to produce 30 points every game.

Going to watch this game as if it could go any way. Will be happy when we win, accepting if we lose.

Oh right. I'm bad at reading. But the 49ers last week were worse than the 49ers when they played us, because they played with a backup QB. That's what I meant, but that was not the Saints.BF004 wrote: ↑07 Oct 2021 15:31Not sure what happened, but I meant we beat the 9ers and we got beat by the SaintsYoHoChecko wrote: ↑07 Oct 2021 15:23To be fair, the 49ers lost their QB in that game, and the replacement played like garbage until garbage time. Jenkins back at practice. Say he's ready to go, where does he play? LT and bench Nijman or LG and bench Runyan?
RIP JustJeff
LT. No question.
Great question. I wish I had some data on how Runyon has been doing. I would love to keep nijman outside until Bak comes back and put Jenkins back at his usual spot just to really beef up the run blocking. But if runyons played well it might be best go ahead and yosh back on the bench. I’ve just been really impressed with his efforts I think it could keep getting better

I hope Yosh stays out there and becomes our bonafide backup LT.Drj820 wrote: ↑07 Oct 2021 16:26Great question. I wish I had some data on how Runyon has been doing. But I just doubt they do that.

You absolutely play Jenkins at LT. Yosh has been solid for a backup LT but there is a significant difference between him and Jenkins. It will help open up the offense as we shouldn’t have to be obligated to chip and help on that side every play.

It’s a finger injury. If he doesn’t play Sunday then the younger generation pussification has officially entered the NFL.

MLF plays the best five, so it comes down to if he considers Yosh or JRJ the 5th best OL available.
I'm guessing it's JRJ. Yosh has played well but JRJ beat out a solid former starter.

They NEED to get to a TV Deal where you can buy add on games to stream and bye pass any local market.
It's getting so ridiculous. With all the options out there. With all the speeds of Internet. We should be able to watch any game we please LIVE no matter what.
I still can't believe last week. When a person PAYS for NFL Sunday Ticket and still misses the whole 1st Quarter because Sunday Ticket says "my game is on my local channel and thus is blacked out" and yet my local channel is playing the Titans and Jets in OT for "bonus coverage". The same thing happened during week 1 too. It's almost a guaranteed given you are missing the 1st quarter when playing a 3:25 game because there is always one straggler noon game.
With all the money in this thing and all the money fans are willing and do pay. For the love of gawd, we should be able to watch our football games live and at our choosing.

One thing that kind of sucks about Nijman, is maybe he could be our longterm RT, but he would need a contract the same time Billy Turner would need one. They restructured Turner's contract making him very likely to be on roster next year. So basically we would never get to benefit from Nijman being on a rookie contract as a starter.go pak go wrote: ↑07 Oct 2021 16:41I hope Yosh stays out there and becomes our bonafide backup LT.Drj820 wrote: ↑07 Oct 2021 16:26Great question. Will be nice to have him the rest of this year, but not even a guarantee he'll be here next year. He'll be a restricted FA, the low tender I believe will be over $2 million, 2nd round tender (doubtful unless he plays a lot this year and really well) would be over 3 million.
We have been very good at doing bridge deals with OL over the years. Might be a great candidate for that. Strong possibility we could get him at a discount versus waiting until UFA and it likely would save cap dollars next season. Of course this is all a big if the Packers see him as a long-term starter.

Yeah I think it should be pretty easy to bring back Yosh on a 1 or 2 year deal while we still have Bakh and Turner.
I mean this guy right now is still a backup quality LT. And we have also invested a lot of time and resource into him that I don't think he will be expensive.
I honestly thing our tackle situation looks pretty good for next year. I would say perhaps another Tackle (could be left or right) could be drafted early as a development guy for 2023, but otherwise our Oline is pretty solid next season.
