Yeah the whole honor contracts thing is kind of ridiculous. Didn't hear how the Packers did Jimmy Graham wrong because we didn't play out his contract.
We are honoring Aaron Rodgers's contract and making him whole as a person because we gave him a huge a$$ signing bonus when he signed. That's why he has such a high dead cap number. That's honor of itself.
I mean maybe Rodgers want to do the Eli Manning route and ride the bench if Love beats him out in a few years, but I doubt it. And I wouldn't blame him.
What is Rodgers' trade value in 2022/23?

We will get a 2nd for him. Even if his play declines the league is aware of the lack of talent around him.

At the end of the 2022 season, I agree, mid round 2nd round pick.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑29 Apr 2020 23:28We will get a 2nd for him. Even if his play declines the league is aware of the lack of talent around him.
In 2 years, at the end of the 2021 season, a mid round 1st.
Next March, much more, a top 5 1st round pick or a 1st and a 2nd.
And for those reasons, I think the Packers should trade him a year from now. A top 5 pick is worth more than dead cap problems.
If they trade Rodgers, it may be a conditional pick. Similar to Favre.
Such as:
4th round if plays less than 50% snaps
3rd round if plays more than 70% snaps
2nd round if make it to playoffs
1st round if win SB
