I don't think we're fully appreciating what Stenavich and also our GM(s) have done.

There are teams with three 1st rounders on their line. We have... none.

We're getting it done with a cheap cast-off RT, rookies, young low rounders and UDFAs, and even the two 2nd rounders we have are revelations compared with their draft slot. Elg is an All Pro -level OL in my eyes for his incredible versatility. I could not believe he could handle LT that well - college guards NEVER hack it at tackle in the NFL. And a rookie 62nd pick slipping into C in a complex O with AR changing things on the fly...

Yes, LaFleur is great at devising game plans that help the OL out to an extent, but still it could sooooo easily be a situation where yoop would complain about terrible protection and how we never spend first rounders on OL to protect AR....
right, Yoop complains about everything :box: when have you ever heard me glamor for a 1st rounder on a OL, any OL, never happen, at least since Thompson took over, freaked me out when he did that on that T that busted out some years back, the first round is reserved to these position on Yoops draft board lol, QB, but only if the present HOF bound ol guy has actually died and there are coroner varification to prove it  DT but only if where drafting top 10, maybe 15 in heavy draft class, Edge rusher any where round one, same with CB, safety, WR, thats about it, maybe TE or ILB depending. :rotf:
Oh, but you would've gone nuts if we had ended up with a bad OL and AR would've taken a beating. :box: :box: And you'd be right. Usual way to build an OL is to use a 1st rounder for at least the LT, preferably both tackles, and you usually don't get quality insta-starters at C or G without spending a first. TT and Gutey have been so good at finding gems, and our coaches have done such an incredible job, we haven't had to follow that path. Spoiled, really.

I am not sure who is in charge of scouting OL. Maybe it is Guteys specialty. But as bad as the scouting dept has been over the years at finding defenders outside of the first round, they are equally as good at finding OLmen. Truly amazing the work they have done over the years hitting HRs at that position.
