Awesome job by the defense. Anytime you hold a team to 10 points or less that is a dominant game.
The game was a lot "longer" than I was hoping.
Really hated to see Gary limping at the end. Did seem like they put Clark on more of a snap count.
We need the offense to show up Thursday.

I mean, he was like okay for a 4th/5th string safety. But 4th quarter I honestly felt like we would have been better off playing 10 guys.go pak go wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:15Yeah I really want Vernon Scott in that role. Black was never that great in coverage and today he sucked in the open field period.
We can't have that.

That game was a garbage fire in which the refs were way too prominent and we got so many breaks it didn’t seem fair.
But we were the better team and we won and we finally broke the red zone defense futility streak, officially at least.
Nothing to complain about. Came away with a double digit win against an inferior opponent.
As for the run/pass, it may have been extreme but their biggest advantage was their d line versus our banged up o line. The plan worked fine so why question it. We’re moved the ball pretty well almost all day, despite a modest score output

Just the one play.williewasgreat wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:17I would put an asterisk next to this one. The WFT screwed themselves to keep from scoring more points. Was not really a dominant defensive game.
The Packers earned everything else once in the redzone.
Problem is, he is our 3rd safety.BF004 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:17I mean, he was like okay for a 4th/5th string safety. But 4th quarter I honestly felt like we would have been better off playing 10 guys.

No such thing as an asterisk in the standings. Even the Seahawks got their win on the BS fail Mary.williewasgreat wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:17I would put an asterisk next to this one. The WFT screwed themselves to keep from scoring more points. Was not really a dominant defensive game.

I think this is more akin to Morgan Burnett sliding like Heinecki sliding.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:26No such thing as an asterisk in the standings. The red zone series with the “gave himself up” was so dumb. It was a letter of the law ruling not a spirit of the law. That guy ran untouched into the endzone. I’m not going to feel great about that.go pak go wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:22such as?YoHoChecko wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:19That game was a garbage fire in which the refs were way too prominent and we got so many breaks it didn’t seem fair.
The big PI on Adams looked egregious in live action, but on replay could have been an easy no call. A hand on the shoulder with no hook doesn’t merit a call to me.
The fumble that wasn’t recovered by Savage got corrected on replay, but the call on the field was obviously wrong that the review itself was annoying.
We were a better team, but there were so many close calls and they all leaned our way. On the season, it felt like justice and fair. Win some, lose some. Within the course of the game, it was just terrible to watch and felt extra frustrating

So 1 break?

Nice win. This is one of those 4-5 games per year that by next year, I won't remember because it was just a comfortable blowout win. We're just a better team than them, simple as.
Now onto the hard part of the schedule.

I think this was Gary’s first absolutely dominant game. He was good last week. He took this game over.

Yeah this is sort of what we all expected out of him this season. I hope he keeps it up.lupedafiasco wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:34I think this was Gary’s first absolutely dominant game. He was good last week. He took this game over.
Yeah, normally I hate when we go so pass-heavy but in this case, it made sense. The secondary was the clear weakness of their D, DL their clear strength and they have some LBers who can play (not to mention Landon Collins in the box). I liked some of the quick passes outside to replace running up the middle.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑24 Oct 2021 15:19As for the run/pass, it may have been extreme but their biggest advantage was their d line versus our banged up o line.

The Adams PI is offset with the Douglass PI call.
I don't think the refs impacted the outcome of the game. They were sloppy for sure. But no real advantage to one team or the other.
