Douglas’ INT to seal win over Cards
I’ve looked at Rasul Douglas’ INT in the last minute to seal the win over the Cards. I get a feeling that this single play might become a signature moment of this season.
If the Packers can continue to withstand the number of injuries they’ve had, I can really see this team, as imperfect as it is now, continuing to build into a championship team.

I agree. And maybe more than just this season.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021 01:42I’ve looked at Rasul Douglas’ INT in the last minute to seal the win over the Cards. I get a feeling that this single play might become a signature moment of this season.

It is hard to understate what the Packers have done the last 2 seasons. This year they found 3 starting rookies, at CB, at center and at guard. And a rotational Dlineman. They found a very good FA ILB. Winfree and Taylor are showing real promise. They have no position for Runyan when Bakh comes back and he would start on almost every other team. Love and Dillon were steals and only 1 draftee from 2020 is not still on the team. And now they found a starting quality FA CB off someone else's PS. Bakh might be back for the next game. Maybe Z soon. Jaire in December.
Unfortunately they lost Tonyan for the season but this may make it possible to resign him to an affordable deal for next season. If the injuries stop now and Bakh, X and Jaire are healthy for the playoffs, the Lombardi trophy will be coming home.
I was honestly so much in disbelief on that play. I couldn't believe he was able to make the play. Even with Green not knowing the play.
To be able to tip that ball to himself, get his feet in....what a huge play to seal the game.
I think I would have rather had Clark help out his buddy Lancaster and get the safety instead to seal it, but how can you not get excited about the future of this secondary? I think we have a player in Douglas.
We saw this type of play from the defense in 2010 literally the entire postseason.
Wildcard - Tramon Williams INT in the endzone to seal it
Divisional Round - Tramon Williams INT at halftime to seal it
Championship Round - Shields INT to seal it
SB - 4th down stop

Another advantage we have over last year I believe is our schedule is really tough.
You look at this November schedule, these are all playoff caliber games.
The Chiefs on the road is a playoff game for the Chiefs. They need it to save their season.
The Seahawks at home with a potential Wilson return is a playoff game for the Hawks. They need it to save their season.
The Vikings on the road. That could very well be a key divisional game where a MN win puts them right in the hunt for the division.
The Rams at home is a potential seeding game.
All of these games are playoff type games. If we route them, it will set up a much easier December as we could have things wrapped up early or have the ability to withstand 1 or 2 losses, but it will also provide this team with valuable "playoff style" matchups with so much on the line for both teams.

I must just briefly add to my post, that there is a chance of an emotional let down this coming week. Hopefully not with more than a week to recover. Even so, it seems like the team confidence level is gaining reasons each week to be inspired and growing.

I think with the players (supposedly) coming back this next week, their energy and excitement will offset any residual emotional lethargy remaining off the big win. At least I’m more inclined to believe that than any potential letdown.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021 07:17I must just briefly add to my post, that there is a chance of an emotional let down this coming week. Yeah I was thinking about that too. It's gonna be a huge game for KC.Scott4Pack wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021 07:17I must just briefly add to my post, that there is a chance of an emotional let down this coming week. But I also said going into this that if we split these road games, I would much rather have the W against AZ than KC.
I think KC matches well against us for the simple fact that their offense is very much a suck on 1st down. Suck on 2nd down. Convert on 3rd and 4th down by making a ridiculous broken play.
Our defense is very much a great on 1st down. Great on 2nd down. Allow the opposing offense to convert on 3rd and 4th down.
Yeah, GB isn't very good at stopping teams on 3rd down...but KC is even worse. And while GB's defense is middling on 4th down stops (50%), again, KC is not only worse but atrocious.go pak go wrote: ↑31 Oct 2021 09:11I think KC matches well against us for the simple fact that their offense is very much a suck on 1st down. I like our chances.
I think the argument could be made if you wanted that this was also on the hands of AZ failing more than GB making a great play.
I take nothing away from the INT. But if Green doesn't give up, there is at the least likely no chance of an INT.

It was both. We played extremely well but also decided to hand the game over. Then they handed it right back. I’m happy with the win but not the execution of this one.
The redzone decision making was atrocious in this game.
