FYI, Vikings fan base is the most fair weather in the NFL.

They definitely go through "avid fan" to "not a fan at all" mighty quick.

I would say Cincy is less supportive, but they also don't get as high as the Vikings do when they are good. (hence the fair weather label)

MN fans get awful gabby when they start the season 4-2.

Was in Packer/Bear territory for 20 years and been in Packer/Viking territory for 20 years. Vikings fans as a whole ate the worst. They are so cocky when they are winning and completely negligent when they are losing.

Yup. Too bad you weren't around for the glory days of the Packers in the 70's and 80's. It's amazing how many Packer fans you couldn't find outside of Green Bay.

I have no understanding of rooting for a division rival that is within two games of us, that we still have to play twice, while we still have half the season to play to let the overall conference standings shakeout.

I feel this and tend to agree, but I'm split. Playing MN twice has big downside, but it also makes them significantly "within our control." I think people big on controlling your own destiny will root for the Vikings tonight; and those who are more generally risk averse will root for the Cowboys.

Win a one or two and no one counts the losses anymore. It's that simple. (Well, not really, they still have to win one or two.) No one talked about Denver's 4 losses anymore after winning one. Don't think they talked about them much before they won their first.

Another similarity between the Packers and Saints this week is the performances of our QBs, as Aaron Rodgers and Trevor Simien both battled through team injuries with a gutty, gritty, mistake-free performance that doesn't show up on the stat sheet (50s completion percentage, 5s yards per attempt, under 200 yards, no INTs), but effectively managed the offense well enough to get a win versus a top 5 D, spreading the ball around to RBs and TEs while no WR had more than 3 catches.

There are 3 or 4 in my retirement community alone. They can be real snarky whenever the Packers play their team. Jealousy does that to some people.

During those years I lived in the Chicago area, Kentucky, Utah and Madison, Wisconsin (where I now live). I spent two separate stints in Chicago and it was awful, but there were Packer bars there where I was able to find some sanity and solace. In 1985-88 I was a teacher/coach in Aurora, IL and the Bear fans were truly insufferable, including many of my students. The other areas actually had as many Packer fans as any other fans.
