Basically what I have come to is every fan base is annoying as hell if they are allowed to.
It is human nature. Personally, I'm not a gloating fan. It's not how I fan. But many and most are.
So the Bears being insufferable in the 1980's makes sense. They were really good.
Vikings fans being insufferable to my prime growing up years of the late 90's to 2010 makes sense. They were really good and had Carter, Moss, Favre, etc.
New England being annoying makes sense. Bostonians are a$$holes and their city struck sports magic starting in the 2000's.

I'm a firm believer that most fans of most teams are good people. Yeah, I may be a fool. But, there are smaller portions that are just a$$holes, and those stick out a lot more than those that are not. Those are the ones everyone remembers.go pak go wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021 12:17Basically what I have come to is every fan base is annoying as hell if they are allowed to.

Except in New England, they have a larger portion of a$$holes than good people. And Dallas.
There is a difference between annoying as hell and an a$$hole. I think all fans are annoying when they are allowed to be because their team won.Raptorman wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021 12:57I'm a firm believer that most fans of most teams are good people. Steelers, Patriot and Eagles fans are a$$holes. Those are the only times I thought things would get unnecessarily violent which is soooo dumb.
I've occasionally had problems with Vikings fans but overall it has always been good natured fun and ribbing. They're just annoying. Same with Bears fans but again it was primarily all in good fun and the worst it gets is annoying.
I can handle annoying. I don't like to handle a$$holes. Nothing is worse then spending a lot of money in your host city and its stadium only to be nervous that the slightest wrong move could put you in a violent situation.
Don't forget Philly...Raptorman wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021 12:57I'm a firm believer that most fans of most teams are good people. Yeah, I may be a fool. That happened to me at Pittsburgh in 2009 when the Steelers won on the last play. I was in Row 4 and snow balls started getting thrown down.
Except some of them weren't snow and a Packers fan in front me got smoked with an ice chunk and his head was bleeding like crazy.
That whole game I was just so nervous because I could tell we were not welcome. Like at all. I hate Pittsburgh so much for it and I was so glad we beat them in the SB the following year.
Fortunately the snow and ice chunks didn't start flying till after the game was over and we were able to leave after the game ended. But the walk back to the car was brutal. 10 years flipped me off and everyone cheered them on.
It definitely changed my calculus when I choose road games. Like why would I want to spend $1,000's to either fear for my safety or not be able to enjoy myself because I am outnumbered by a$$holes.
My goal now is always to try and find ways where I sit in a "Packer section". Unfortunately Packers Fan Tours no longer has Packers sections from what I can tell.
And I get it. Subjectifying the entire city based on your section in a stadium is wrong. But I got the bad section and it ruined my game day experience.

Ya'll just need to coordinate and travel with Packfntk on his annual trips. Travel in hordes of imposing male figures and Johnny &%$@ will think twice about screwing with you.
Sidenote: While we're at it - Nick, have you got any road trip horror stories to share?

Not really, been to 17 stadiums and have been treated pretty well for the most part. You will run into dicks at every stadium People are jerks by nature, but they are outnumbered.
- Chicago was brutal I guess, but we expected that. Fans behind us literally didn't come to watch the game, they came to harass Packer fans. Threw peanuts at us all game.
- Was in Seattle for the Fail Mary. All week they were great. Took us out drinking, etc. They were fine during the game. The second they "Caught the ball", they were absolute terrors. We walked out and they were throwing beer and food at us. Keep in mind, we still didn't know what exactly happened because they wouldn't show it on the jumbotron.
- Denver was surprisingly arrogant and rude.
Other than that, we have had a blast, and I would not give up going to these games for anything.
Wisconsin Cheese Is Better Than California Cheese!
Yeah it's so specific on where you're sitting often times because people always warned me about Denver but I can honestly say that was one of the most enjoyable road experiences I have ever had.

Chiefs offense looks like ours in 2015. Mahomes drops back, scrambles for 5 seconds, and throws the ball away.
Cancelled by the forum elites.
If the Packers play anything remotely close to how they’re capable, they are gonna roll the Chiefs. I’ve watched this KC team a few times now the past month and, along with tonight, their struggling play isn’t just fluky. They legitimately just aren’t very good.

Agreed. But at any given time, they’re still capable of striking on offense. They’re playing terribly, but you can see it sometimes, like the second half of their WFT game. And we’re still playing without Z and Jaire.
So absolutely. If we play a solid game to our skills and they play anything like they’ve been playing, we ROLL. I think that’s decently likely. But I also can’t shake the knowledge that they could have a “get right” game soon. Perhaps against us. Doubt it, but not ruling it out
Even if they were to "get right" on offense and put up 30, I dont think the Chiefs D can stop our O. I mean the Giants offense is about as painful as can be to watch. They lack healthy playmakers, Danny Dimes always wants to make the big mistake, and they like to have a penalty party every week. I think the Packers O drops 40 next Sunday

Didn't they have a judge and small court room somewhere on the premises of their old stadium because of terrible fan behavior? I heard it wasn't a good place for a woman to be either.APB wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021 13:05Don't forget Philly...Raptorman wrote: ↑01 Nov 2021 12:57I'm a firm believer that most fans of most teams are good people. Dallas fans aren't bad. To someone who doesn't know Texas culture they may seem bad but that's just southern baptist bravado. If anything, Dallas fans are fair-weather. Maybe they will get more annoying if they ever win anything again.
I visited Philly like the week before they shut down everything for the pandemic and Philly people are as &%$@ as advertised lol
Yeah, Philly is just bizarre to the point where its really not even cool. I mean these guys were following the horses at the SB celebration and eating the poop they dropped and they thought that was cool/proper way to celebrate. They do not deserve nice things, something is wrong with them.
