Robert woods torn ACL. Out for the year.
He won't be lonely. OBJ will likely join him on IR sooner rather than later.

Almost every high pick Mayock had made was massively over rated according to my board.

I think he’s been one of the worst GMs of the past decade. Maybe even 2. It’s hard to find someone who has done as much dumb &%$@ as he is. The Ferrell pick was crazy to me. Then he took Ruggs which I get with the speed I guess but I would have rather taken Jefferson, Jeudy, or Lamb over him.
Matt Millen will fight him for the first decade of this century. :thwap:

His eight-year tenure as head of the franchise led to the worst eight-year record in the history of the modern NFL (31–84, a . 270 winning percentage), and resulted in his termination on September 24, 2008. Millen assembled the personnel and coaching staff of the 2008 Lions, which became the first team to go 0–16.
Matt Patricia (the guy with the beard and pencil) didn't work out too well either. How Calvin Johnson and Barry Sanders in their respective eras did as well as they did is impressive.

Or spend the week immersed in their first non-loss of the season.

At least the Lions made sure they are not the first team in NFL history to 0-17. :rotf:

Jared Goff is proof that who drafts you, and who your coach is...makes or breaks 90% of league QBs.

Fun Fact, at 36 wins (34 reg+2 post). Matt Lafluer has more wins than overly-feared Kyle Shannahan's 35 (32 reg+3 post)

Matt in 46 games, Kyle in 75 games.

Matt is 138th in total wins (regular season) with the 34.

He's just coming off a thumb injury himself - so not sure if the TBLS is ready for prime time.
I'd love to see Boyle get a fair chance to shine as a starter

The league doubling down on it's taunting rule emphasis. In a memo released this week (as reported by ESPN):
"Appropriate celebration, enthusiasm and sharing great moments with our teammates and fans is encouraged," NFL senior vice president of officiating training and development Walt Anderson said in an accompanying video. "The emphasis by the NFL to discourage acts of taunting or disrespect, when you direct actions toward an opponent or his bench, will continue. Officials are instructed to call fouls on actions that demonstrate that disrespect."

"Avoid any actions where you approach an opponent or his bench and gesture, posture or otherwise demonstrate any verbal or physical form of disrespect," Anderson said in the video. "Turn away. Take the opportunity to celebrate with your teammates and don't put officials in the position of having to make a judgment about whether or not your actions rise to the level of a foul. Remove all doubt and don't put yourself or your team at risk of a penalty."

"When our youth see us making a great play and then showing up an opponent," he said, "that sends the message to them that such behavior is OK. But that is not the message that we want to promote for our great game."
To me, the league is, once again, going way overboard to make a point. They are ignoring the emotional component to the game and allowing officials to make rational behavior judgments on sometimes irrational emotional displays. Most of the flags I've seen thrown don't have much, if any, taunting aspect to the celebration. It's just players displaying an exuberant and natural response in the moment.

That flag on the Chicago player last week was ridiculous and, if anything, that official should have been punished for antagonistically backing into the player and creating contact. Funny, I haven't seen anything of a league response to that.

Oh, and that last paragraph about youth influence. Pfft. They think calling flags on that stuff is gonna deter taunting like behavior? Like anything else, it will only amplify the attention to it and, kids being kids, they'll respond the exact opposite of the league intention. That, and how about the league allow those high school and college leagues to administer their own levels of acceptance and leave the excuse making about youth influence out of it.

Whats interesting is even though that happened to Chicago, their coach is still out in public defending the insanity.

To paraphrase he hilariously says he is a big believer in mutual respect and their shouldnt be taunting because "kids are watching" lol

Who is their coach again? Oh, that's right, it's still Nagy. Enough said...

The people dreaming up these taunting and respect rules have obviously never sat in the general seating sections of opposing team stadiums wearing visitor garb.
