Playoff Opponents Disucssion
YoHo kind of brought this up in other threads but I want to talk about this more.
What is the order of the potential remaining teams that you would like to see most and like to see least from the perspective of the Packers? We will do this as of now so we will include the 49ers and Saints in this discussion.
You can use any criteria you want to make your assessments.

Thinking about this a lot. I know most will disagree, but I really don't want to see SF at Lambeau. They are probably the most physical team in the field and I just hate a lot of those match-ups in the cold and conditions.go pak go wrote: ↑04 Jan 2022 13:40YoHo kind of brought this up in other threads but I want to talk about this more.

I would say...
Some level of concern:
Tampa - Just because of our penchant for kryptonite teams.
Rams - We have had their number, but this team is still dangerous.
SF - Big, physical team maybe more suited to play in Lambeau than we are.
Dallas - Actually a pretty tough match-up, I should have more concern, but Aaron Rodgers is not losing to Mike McCarthy... ever.
No concern... no way we lose:
Arizona - The opposite of SF. I don't like their chances of playing in the elements. They are night and day scarier in Arizona.
Philly - Just not talented enough.
New Orleans - Nothing at the game's most important position.

In the NFC, I'm not really scared of any team, but if I had a choice of one team not to play, it would still be the Buccaneers because of Tom Brady. I don't think they're playing nearly as well as they were last season at this time, but I would still have a lot of anxiety going into that game, partly (mostly) due to PTSD.

Most want to play to least want to play:
1. Saints
2. Cardinals
3. Eagles
4. Cowboys
5. Rams
6. 49ers
7. Bucs
That said, if Rodgers has a good vibe, none scare me.
THAT said, Rodgers sometimes doesn't have that vibe.

I will start this by saying my top two "most wanting to play" and "least most wanting to play"
Most Wanting to Play
1. New Orleans - They have very limited ways of scoring points and this will have major, major poster board material for the Packers.
2. Philly Eagles - Again they have very limited ways of scoring. I am just very confident our defense can hold them to 17 or less and this would likely end in a route.
Least Wanting to Play
1. Tampa - I hate saying because I actually want them. I think we match up well enough. I think we are the far superior team. But I say them because I'm sorry...but Brady has the refs and God's side in the postseason. They are also
2. Dallas - Their offense can point up serious points on any given day. Not that they always do, but if their offense is on a role, they are really tough to stop. I think this is the most talented team outside of GB in the conference.

You mean NFC Championship Rodgers vibe? Hope the monkey gets off his back for this one.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑04 Jan 2022 13:51Most want to play to least want to play:

It's interesting because i think their road record is like 8-1 this year. I think their only road loss is at Detroit.

Interesting. I almost put the Eagles as scarier than the Cowboys on my list, mainly because the Eagles have two things that have, at times, been our bugaboos this year--mobile QB who makes plays outside of the system and a strong rushing attack.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys come with the added benefit (for us) of Rodgers having a personal investment in making sure we beat that coach.

The Rams would be more concerning to me than the 49ers. The 9ers have to play the Rams in LA in the late game on Sunday afternoon. Win and they are in but that won't be an easy task. If they lose then they have to hope New Orleans loses in Atlanta.YoHoChecko wrote: ↑04 Jan 2022 13:51Most want to play to least want to play:

What does the 9ers needing to play in LA have to do with us though?Pugger wrote: ↑04 Jan 2022 14:05The Rams would be more concerning to me than the 49ers. If the 49ers lose in LA and New Orleans beats the Falcons then we don't have to worry about SF at all.go pak go wrote: ↑04 Jan 2022 14:06What does the 9ers needing to play in LA have to do with us though?Pugger wrote: ↑04 Jan 2022 14:05The Rams would be more concerning to me than the 49ers. Well we only will play 2 of the 7 possible teams regardless.
The question isn't about "if we will play" or "chances we will play". The question is purely which matchup are you most and least afraid of for the Packers?
It goes both ways right?YoHoChecko wrote: ↑04 Jan 2022 14:03

But I will admit. The Eagles have scored more 30+ games than I admittedly thought they did.
i dont see stafford coming to lambeau and beating us.
There certainly is an aura of intimidation that comes with Brady so I just assume not play them if given the option.
The cowboys really dont scare me either. I just think we would have an edge over them.
The 9ers on a good day have a lot to contend with. Kittle, the run game, Bosa, Deebo etc. I think id rather not play them.
I dont think the Eagles have the firepower.

Lot of good points about the 9ers and them being physical.
Also, I think they are one of the best record teams since like October.

Rams are a better version of the 49ers in every way except TE.

They have lost 3.
Rams have lost 3.
Bucs have lost 4.
Cowboys have lost 4.
Eagles have lost 2.
Saints suck.
Packers have lost 2.
Cardinals have lost 4.
They're middle of the road for playoff teams.

The 49ers OL still matches up with our Front-7 better than the Rams OL. Just more size and ability to erase one of our EDGE guys with Williams. That whole 49ers rushing attack is just far more proficient than the Rams and a repeat of that 2020 game against the Vikings is what scares me.

You can only play what is on your schedule, but ew, is that a super unimpressive run for the Eagles.
