Any mention of 2014 should be a bannable offense. We need to act like that year never happened. It was a blip year.

That was JustJeff's doing (carried over from the old forum) and it still cracks me up to this day...
forgive me for not adding a laughing emoticon thing is I would rather not see players who do impulsive idiotic " look at me " stuff in these play offs.
It would have taken a act of GOD for Amari to have had a meaningful return on that kick off, and his attempt cost us precious time on the clock.

It's all in good fun at this point. If you still hold a grudge against that guy, there is something wrong with the way you live your life.
come on, it's not the name, it's about under achieving players, that do very impulsive things hoping to achieve something with little regard for the consequences, that TE cost us big time, and Amari acts the same way.
I am looking at his pro day results now - 4.52 40, 1.65 10 yard split
Allen Lazard had a 4.55 40 and 1.58 split at the combine, which doesnt have favorable times like pro days. Amari's actual times would be much worse.
1.65 split for a slot receiver sounds bad but maybe I am off.
4.52 is not bad, and I am a numbers guy to the core, but I think Rodgers is a 4.6 guy on-field, whereas Lazard plays to his time (and can offset some lack of separation with his length, which Rodgers doesn't have).
Guys who go to a program like Clemson get really good training to test well on Combine drills. Guys who go to Iowa State, not so much.

The best receiver in the NFL ran a 4.56 at the combine with a 1.64 10 yard split.

Huh. I would've thought Cooper Kupp tested better than that...
Interestingly enough Cooper Kupp ran a 4.62 with a 1.61 10 yard split at the combine.

Now that is interesting.
I don't think you'd get much disagreement over those two being the top two WRs in the NFL. Which is the top is irrelevant for this discussion. The fact they're both non-speedster types is pretty eye-opening.

when this last year has Rodgers ever looked as quick as Adams in and out of breaks, or even straight line 4.56 fast ?
Yoop, I had to talk you down from proclaiming that Rodgers would have 800 yards receiving as a rookie or something ridiculous like that. He had a bad rookie year. Like, BAD, BAD. But, give the kid some time. I saw little glimpses of explosion here and there, but his opportunities were extremely limited from scrimmage and a PR, he is not, so not going to hold that too harshly against him.

I didn't say he did... FFS

thing is he has not demonstrated his timed speed, and from the small sampling he seldom gets separation ( explosion) which is why we seldom see him on offense, as a return specialist he is mistake prone.
Sure he could/should drop a few lbs, I heard he added weight last off season, so that could add a little speed/quicks, I just don't want to rely on his ability to do that or be our starting slot receiver.
I listened to Cobbs glowing report, and expected to see a closer clone to Cobb, Hell Randal said glowingly that Amari is better then he was, I think Cobb lied
